Bio:



I went to music class at a fairly early age but I guess I was never really that interested. I played the recorder for starters and then the flute and then for some reason the trombone! I also played in a renaissance ensamble, in long brown velvet robes. That was a sight for sure! Anyway, I learned some note-reading, which was nice. What I liked better was improvising on the piano at home.

One Christmas I bought a Casio CTK-611-hm-instrument for the family with midi capabilities and on the whole a rather nice sound and some nice features. So I played on it as I had played the piano back home. But it took a few more years until at last I got hold of a copy of Apples Soundtrack, again right before Christmas. I assembled a few songs over the holidays but in January Apple announced Garageband. And the rest is... history?

Musical inspiration over the years: Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, a Swedish group called Adolphson-Falk, Peter Gabriel...

Below you can find most of the songs from my "album" Dreams in Cerulean Blue - in a "false" order. The correct order would be:

I have also started to upload some shorter pieces that go under the label Henkes Movie Music, some made with loops, some all by myself. (I don't know if they should be called Cinematic Soundtracks or Film Scoring. I've seen both used here at MJ...)

My updated user photo is made by my daughter Linnea as a school project in which she designed a complete CD booklet for my album Dreams in Cerulean Blue. It's not my synth or iMac - but I've actually got a 24" one at work. The fabric of my clothes, though, are authentic. Linnea scanned them... So you'll understand why I am a bit big headed nowadays ;-)
