I love music. I think, plan, play and butcher music as often as I can. My intro to digital composing came when I was asked to write a couple of songs for a documentary that is to be released in 2009 about Black Mold exposure. It's a bluegrass tune ( I produced and sang vocals and played mando) I asked a buddy of mine to show me how to operate PT which I had just purchased and knew nothing about it. I use GB for it's ease and simplicity when not working up a more intricate tune. I live for Praise and Worship music because He lived and died for me. I started as a 12 year old in Jr. High and enrolled in the band because I could no longer play football due to health reasons. When I got better, I stayed with music. I got to the band hall on that first day to tryout for the drum section. But the section was full, so I had to pick another instrument. I was looking thru a dictionary one day and saw a picture of a saxophone and I chose that one... not knowing its rich history and complexity, I nevertheless, never looked back and am always challenged by it's running ahead of me- always besting me and pulling me along to always get better.
My influences have been Pat Metheny, Stanley Turrentine, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Ronnie Laws, Hubert Laws, Stanley Clarke, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, John Klemmer, Grover Washington, The Crusaders, Caldera, Earl Klugh, Bob James, MJQ, Texas Hill country Music in general, Americana, Camel, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Yes, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, The Surfers and too many to try to realize...
I work daily with recording software as it pertains to the classroom and teaching medical students. I really love my job.
