Description
More rock than jazz, really. This is a sountrackie kind of thing. It seemed to grow on it's own. My friend Vasken played hand drums beautifully (one take) and brought the whole thing to another spot. Bring a snack, and enjoy the ride.

Is jewlery scary...?
I like that I don't understand why this piece is titled so.
Cool swirling feel. I agree movieish... I really dig all the
stuff intermingling...
Very tasty and cool.
Solid!

Powerful
Complex rhythm patterns on those drums and searing,
flying guitar strains. An Arabian Carpet ride through San
Francisco...at night. Love it. This is 100% juice...no insipid
artificial ingredients.

Wild!
Trepidation in Jewelry...sounds like a nickname an
exboyfriend might bestow upon me. Ha! I like the title. I
really like the combo of jazz, blues, and almost tribal
drums. Very cool. I enjoyed the ride.

You nailed it!
That's exactly what the title refers to! Not you, personally but....it's actually a
take off on on old sexist joke about the difference between a pitbull and a
jealeous woman is jewlery. But seriously, thank you very much for the kind
words. It was awesome to watch my friend Vasken play the hand drums when
we recorded. He's an awesome regular drummer and I've worked with him for
years, but I had never heard him play the little clay hand drum before and it
was COOL. I had the piece done for awhile before he added those, and it was
amazing to see how much they added.

different sounding
most "atmospheric" of your many songs i hear today ...
hand drums bring intense aliveness to track ... i forget to
ask you earlier, what kind of recording software is used on
these pieces? ... you do not mention ... this is like some
old pat metheny records my father plays over and over ...
in an altered state of mind ... i do not know if i can "eat
snack" while on this trip ...

I'd shake your hand...
...but they're cover with popcorn butter and nacho cheese! Excellent tune. It whispers and screams. Hey, there's a title for a new tune!... Whispers and Screams. :) Nice job and a very creative number. Solid jam. I like the distorttion peppered with your clean sound. A fav and a keeper. High marks, here. Keep em' coming, Mr. ziti!

Nice Concept
Very nice Collab here. Excellent combination of styles that
work well. The hand drums were a little ahead of the
groove at times so the overall groove could be better.
Consider pushing the hand drum track a little further in
the time line so it sits better the rest of the tracks.
Reminds of music I listened to while in College.

This is a killer tune
The guitar....the drums....the groove...so up my alley.
What a great track! Some of that guitar has the flavor of
Mike Rutherford then some Carlos......but what's really
cool is that it's you...your own voice/style. Most excellent
work and great production. Faved and downloaded.

yeah!
This is really great. Definately good soundtrack material.
You really know how to make that guitar sing. Very nice
sonic feel and just an excellent mix. Only nit, clean up/fade
out the line noise at the end before it cuts out.

Welcome to MacJams, by the way.

Brought Me Back
Well acid rock is alive and well. Really reminded me of the
old days and laying on the carpet in your apartment with
a pair of headphones on. A lot of nice textures that flow in
and then fade into something else. Oops, my Indian
tapestry wall covering is starting to move around and is
going through all these changes.

neat layers & textures
Very nice instrumental playing all the way around. The
hand drums add a lot to this mix.

Great guitar playing! It flows seemingly without effort
from your fingers. Good, strong connection between your
inspiration (muses?), brain and hands. A comment I made
on another one of your tunes bears repeating: "you are at
one with your instrument".

I like the sort of "loose" flow between the instruments.
Once in a great while, the hand-drums and other drums
are not perfectly in synch, but this is a small thing in view
of an overall VERY good track.

I am beginning to see a pattern in your music. Every piece
I've heard so far has taken me on some sort of journey.
Very cool.

Pretty Amazing
The repitition in the percussion line is reassuring. The dancing between the tonic and the dominant is much more prounounced in this tune than in a lot of your other stuff. Very pleasng to my ear.

I would listen this again and again.

I don't know why it didn't rate higher. I'd revisit this gem.

a little deeper
thought I'd poke around the closet of my fav Mj'ers. Glad I did. This is a
great track. I especially like it when you stretch out like you do here. I
picture the late night jam session, candles and all. The hand drums do
indeed add spice and when the drums kit starts pumpin I get the
distinct sensation of participating in a wild excursion. Love the title. :-)
