Description
Just a fun project for GB...a fantasy "concert"...we've hired the symphony, and the extra drummers...the crowd is excited...the first note brings forth a roar from the happy crowd...it's a beautiful day....

When i was a younger man, i travelled the country with my best friend. When I sat on the edge of th Grand Canyon, I was overcome by a fantasy to set up huge amp at the edge of the canyon, and throw some notes into the vastness, to hear the echoes. It's a fantasy I still have to this day. As is playing a huge outdoor show in front of a large happy crowd.

This piece is just for fun, there is no serious attempt to do anything other than have a little fun and learn somemore about recording and GB

Yeah...
Everyone should be able to have their fantasy 'dream

Nice realization of this little dream here, z! :)

Cinematic
You've gotta love big, outdoor music. This is really well done. I work only with loops (on the Mac that is), so I recognize some of my favorites in there, which I suppose is a mixed blessing. But anyway, I love the way this sounds. --D

Cool!
The beginning has a similar feel to hendrix's 1983 a few
minutes into the song.

What can I say?
I like guitar. And you play really really well. Actually this
started sounding a little like Jerry Garcia's playing by the
end. Minor nits: the bass sounds a little boomy on this.
And the crowd noise loop always sounds pretty contrived.
But for a bit of fun, it ain't half bad!

this sounds like elevator music
you're obviously one of those people who poured half your life savings into your musical pipe dream and this is what you come up with. This is really a let down...nothing more, this piece lirrors a thousand other pieces I've heard in elevators.
ziti said 1103 days ago (November 2nd, 2006)
half my life savings?
no...not half...but i did invest in a tuner so my guitar is in tune. I have worked at making recordings that sound like some effort was put in...and boy if this ever made the elevator circut I might have enough money for a shovel!

Nice concert!
You made it happen... - This sounds very much like a
great day in the park w/ your favorite band playing some
jammin tune. This is definitly jammin and as well, I'm not
so sure that this concert is immaginary...

Gorgeous Jam
Wow! That was wonderful! I try to add anything critical
when I can to my comments but in cased like this I really
can't come up with anything. Not to say there isn't
anything that could make it better, but it leaves me
feeling more than satified. I even liked the crowd noises
even though they are just an not essential to the music
being good or not. Wonderful music, performend and
produced with great artistic skill.

The low scores you see are likely from the type of
malicious bomber we get here sometimes who
understands that 1-bombs will surely be removed
automatically by the troll filter (when it works) and who
has discovered that 5-bombing a highly rated song will
hurt its rating and not get removed. It's a real shame. A
lot of the best music at MJ get's that treatment. Take it as
a badge of honor.

Wonderful idea
and you convey the atmosphere of an outdoor concert very
well.

Just one thing: somewhere halfway the drum starts sounding
more like a studio recording setup then on an outdoor stage.
Considering that you end again with crowd noise that's a bit
incongruous.

Oh, and your guitar playing is great!

Always tasty
Mr. Z,
really fun tune.
Guitar starts talking to me a little after half way. I'm really digging those little staccto jumpy guitar licks. Got a little pinchy bite to them squeezed between the other riffs. Your playing is nice and spicy like good pasta sauce, Mr. Z.
Something about this (might be the strings) reminds me of a Marshall Tucker tune from I don't know how long ago. Probably because that guy was a good spicy pasta sauce too

journey in soundscapes
OK....I have started my "ziti journey", listening to all your
songs since hearing you for the first time today, on your
current tune in Weekly Picks, "Dagadella".

This one took me on a journey to the Grand Canyon
(which is in my home state) and had a lot of interesting
little sound tidbits. Not bad for just "fooling around with
GB"!

I enjoyed the mixture of your guitar with all the synthed
sounds, which were well balanced.

The crowd noises were okay, but perhaps use them a little
less in the future? It's sort of like a strong spice used
judiciously in a tasty plate full of ziti! (sorry, couldn't
resist that one).

Anyway, this was enjoyable listening and I look forward to
checking out the rest of your tune collection here.

Very much the...
Aural fantasy that you describe. Got to love those opening sustained
cymbals and that's part of the reason our two songs sound similar. I
see this is one of your first GB pieces and it sounds great but to listen
to your latest works I think your recordings even sound better now. I
not sure your chops can get any better you seem to have those down
pat.
