Septic Technic

Description
About five years ago a group of young slackers moved next door to me, and they'd invite me over to get trashed, to which I was readily agreeable, but they'd play me this Techno music and ask my opinion, expecting me to proclaim its greatness. When I told them that it was boring and repetitious with no chord progressions to speak of, they took offense, then asked if I could do better. I promptly returned home and whipped up this Techno extravaganza, and to my amazement, they all liked it.

I believe that the secret of pleasing young listeners is to add an excess of bass. Loud bass seems to fascinate young people today just as glass-packed mufflers fascinated my generation. I don't consider anything with only one chord to be music, but if you enjoy this, it's fine with me. Party on, dudes!

Nice
It's a good song, but I think maybe I'd like it better if there
were some drums somewhere.

Just a suggestion.

Decent foundation, but it needs something built onto it
This sounds like a good foundation for a techno song, but it needs some other parts added to make it complete. As another commenter suggested, drums and some other percussion (at least a kick beat and hi hat) would help in that regard. I'm guessing from your description of how this song came to be that you're not totally familiar with techno music (and I'm guessing that what the "slackers" were listening too wasn't really techno, either, if they were mainly into loud bass and little musical substance).

If you can get a hold of it, listen to the CD "Tranceport II" by DJ Ralph, or "Tranceport III" by Sandra Collins (both considered icons in the techno / trance world). You can also check out the "hardesertrance" CD series by DJ Bran. In all of these, you'll find very richly layered compositions that are way more than just a heavy bass line with some electronic blips and bleeps thrown in.
