Description
A song about freedom, love, justice and peace.
Special credit to Johnny Katchoolik (katchoolik) for providing a rock solid soundtrack (called "Speechless") upon which the lyrics and vocals were built.
Comments from Johnny: " 'Speechless' was done about 5 years ago in Seattle. I used a 78 Ovation guitar and a Korg D-8 to record it. The drum and bass tracks were made with a Zoom rhythmtrakk. I mixed it down to a minidisk where it has remained for all those years. The original track is sadly gone, I would have loved to be able to remix it or add some tracks. Oh well. Thanks to all the people that helped work on the song."
Instrumental soundbed: Johnny Katchoolik. Lyrics: Richard Schletty and Jack Miller. Vocals and arrangement: Richard Schletty and Jack Miller. Mixing: Richard Schletty.
Postludes Trio is a collaborative music project spearheaded by Richard Schletty (rschletty) and Jack Miller (dadai). Thanks to these folks who gave us feedback during the process: Tobin Mueller (TobinMueller), Craig Bakay (snowdragon), Bill Furner (thetiler), Robert C. Andrews (rcandrews) and Johannes Alvinder (LillNisse). (www.macjams.com user names in parentheses).
Song art by Schletty. Adapted from mural entitled "Grasped by the Spirit": http://www.schletty.com/holyspirit/graspedbythespirit1.htm
Best unheeded advice Schletty received while producing this came from Todd Laumer: "Very impressive although, in my humble and uneducated opinion, try not to enunciate so much...get a little little more nasal, try garbling of words or phrases, and you're ready for commercial success!"

Lyrics
Breakout
People, get your game on.
Take it to the streets or take it to the court of the world.
People, get your flame on,
burning with desire to feel the warmth of love unfurled.
Hear the vibrations of sovereign nations
respecting each other as we do our mother.
Breakout to freedom with this plan to lead 'em:
the rules of forbearance as taught by our parents.
Ungodly stories of cold-blooded glories
become a new epic, a love epidemic.
Legions of terror befouling the air
swept away by an almighty wind's scent.
Don't you burn out!
Light the fire, pass the torch, let your radiance be showing.
People, time to turn out!
Trash your talk, make your play, this is love's time to be flowing.
Let's break this obsession with heartless oppression.
The sum of all heroes divided by zeroes.
Riches and power despoil and devour.
Is reason misplaced? Does grace have no taste?
Some have been treated, some feel defeated.
Let's burn with desire to take this world higher.
Breakout to freedom, fast break to love.
Stakeout for justice, release the dove!
[2x with multi-part vocal harmonies]
Some have been treated, some feel defeated.
Let's burn with desire to take this world higher.
Breakout to freedom, fast break to love.
Stakeout for justice, release the dove!
[instrumental break]
[2x with "breakout" choral lead-ins]
Some have been treated, some feel defeated.
Let's burn with desire to take this world higher.
Breakout to freedom, fast break to love.
Stakeout for justice, release the dove!

The whole thing is great; the lyrics, singing and music. I especially like the vocal melodies and that lovely tasteful 'instrumental break'. Amazing job you guys.
