Description
This is a prog rock song I originally made as a joke but I started getting creative.

Lyrics
Flash back some-thousand years
Time just was dust
I talked to a statue
It's head was made of rust
I met a girl
Her name was Vesuvius

Thousands of years ago
Frozen in time
There was a mighty volcano
And she was all mine
One day we had a fight
I lost her trust
She had a debt to pay
It's name was Vesuvius!

When a joke turns serious
I seem to work just the opposite - my work starts out creatively, but usually turns into a joke.

You show lots of innovation in developing the original idea here, coming up with a grand series of progressions. So even if it started off as a joke, it certainly becomes more serious along the way. But how it starts doesn't really matter, as long as you find an insertion point to get your creative juices going. I think this piece has more potential - that you could develop it further, perhaps by adding more instruments. Or more words. However, I couldn't understand the single verse - it would be helpful if you posted the lyrics.

Turn up the lyrics
Very interesting song, very original and kind of creepy like the Adams
Family. I would suggest that you turn up the volume on the lyrics and
make them more prominent in the first verse. Also with the amount of
echoes it does make the lyrics a little hard to understand. I agree with
the other comment made that you either need to add another verse or
flesh out parts of it. I was very impressed overall.

Prog Rock Needs More Humour
We beseech thee to slay the bane of seriousness!
Your arrangement is both interesting and amusing in its transition
between styles and the occasional odd note articulation.
Would be grander if there were more bass ... and a light show.
