Description
One day last summer, I was walking my dog Storm. As we were coming home, an older fella was crossing the street ahead of us. He was using a walker and it took him quite awhile.
But when he saw us, he stopped and waited until we reached him. Turns out, he was a musher too in his younger days and wanted to say hello to my lead dog. "I can't do it any more," he said.
I went home and wrote this song.
But it wasn't really right so I sent it to Dadai, who immediately sent it back with a middle 8. "Much better," I said.
But for some reason, I had a helluva time with a bassline for it and the tune, like me, got put on a shelf while I wasted a bunch of time in other worlds.
As my interest in the Second Life music scene waned, I pulled this one back and came up with a solution to the baseline problem — send it to jiguma :)
In the back of my mind, I heard keyboards in this one too. Again, brain cramps prevented me from getting the sound I heard.
Then, a burst of inspiration struck. I sent the tune to Einarus, who, despite a job and exams, managed to get into my head and drag out the last bits the song needed. My jaw literally dropped when I heard what he'd done with it. His keyboards were exactly what I had in mind.

Wheels
Words & music © 2005 by Craig Bakay and Jack Miller
Met an old man today
He walked with the help of wheels
He had no time for play
And I know just how that feels
Cuz they put me on a shelf
And I'm feeling old myself
The wheel is spinning round
There is a priest in town
He's slightly overweight
More than 300 pounds
He's never had a date
But he rides his bike through hell
Nobody ever says he's swell
His wheel is spinnin' round
The wheels in my head
Keep spinnin' round and round
As I walk, through the streets
Of my home
In every face, there's a story
I don't know
And the wheels keep spinnin' round
Spinnin' round
I know red-headed George
Sometimes he forgets his name
He fell into the gorge
And he's never been the same
But he fixes broken bikes
And goes fishin' when he likes
His wheels are spinnin' round

This sounds fab guys!
The keyboard connects to Procol Harum in a way. Suited drums to this rolling kind of groove. It's cool and laidback. The bridge with Dadai makes it complete. Good songwriting and arrangements.
It's a thrill to be able to send parts of songs around the world and put the bits and pieces together to something that sounds as if you've been in the studio together.
Bravo!
