Description
This is my first posting from what I'm calling The Dead Firewire Dive sessions. These are MP3s of songs I had in the works, in some cases redone and remixed, and that were on my Firewire Drive that died. Most were tunes I was hoping to put on a CD in the near future. All the ones I'm posting here are going to be re-recorded, but I want these versions to be heard since I'm pretty proud of them.
This was one that wasn't going on the CD and this is the first time for it to be posted here. It's a tune that's been a work in progress for almost two years now, most of that time it has been waiting for the right lyrics and vocalist. The idea I had for the song was for one of those heartfelt, gutwrechingly tragic ballads of the young woman waiting for her husband who would never return from the war, so she just basically faded away, dying of heartbreak.
I'm currently in the middle of redoing this one and hope in the near future to find some one to pen some beautiful lyrics (I've tried, but they've all sucked), and some one, preferably a lady-type someone to provide vocals for the tune (hint, hint).
If, in the off chance, anyone would like to take a crack at it, please, let me know.

The Orbiting
Joe, this is so beautiful and expresses the feeling of loss and longing
so well. It's a very versatile soundscape you've created here and would
be just right for a vocal expressing the waiting and wondering from
any war from any period of time. Very moving, indeed.
