i wish had this talent i just can't seem to make things like this. i think this is sounds like hope. in my mind at least. it also sounds like heated noise and then a pause of all sensation except the feeling of lips on flesh. now i feel like words should bubble out of this piece. the poet in me. sorry. i think is really good. i like the different texture. also just past halfway when it quiets up...this almost sounds like rememberence and touching ones self as the mind froths the body into a heat of memory. i wish had this talent Likewise. I would love to hear your poetry (which seems to capture the essense of this song) alongside the music. I may try to get some vocals to accompany this. But then again, I kind of need a break from this one. ;) Check out my latest song called Mama Cries - Album Version (MJRF)

Ray Lynch Nice track. Reminds me of Celestial Soda Pop by Ray Lynch. It has a bouncy happy feel with spiritual undertones. Like a happy, smiling Buddha. I think the repetition you use is well within the genre; if there is anything I would alter its your use of melody: I'd use one, instead of substituting melody with groove and arpeggio-chord progression. And then the idea of theme and variation could evolve with greater interest and intimacy. But this is a well produced track. Check out my latest song called Forge A New Life (MJRF)

Very well produced! This is a great track and it has terrific production values. I really like the unpredictable-ness of it and the sounds you've chosen are very interesting. Check out my latest song called I Can't Remember Me

Many hours I can so hear the love you poured into this one. Not only are there a lot of carefully considered details but each is delicately mixed just so. Its hard to make electronica emotive, but this piece is a good example of the possibilities. (8-8-7-7) Check out my latest song called Loop It or Lose It 9

Read the blurb, Listened to the track (love those big synth washes at the beginning, had a real Roland sound to them I thought, odd because you are on a Korg...) And just started staring at the edge of my powerbook screen. All this electronic music just blurs the man/machine boundaries so much that I really got into the curvy corners...Completely sober too (unusual for me). God, this is a SEXY computer..... Ahem, anyway, subliminal in a real "prickly heat" kind of a way. Disturbingly good.... Check out my latest song called Real Slow

Read the blurb, "Disturbingly Good".... Now that's a compliment! And that was the intention. You've made my day--all of you--thank you for the compliments. These songs I've created have saved me thousands of dollars in therapy costs. xoxoxo Check out my latest song called Mama Cries - Album Version (MJRF)

rich and varied You've got a lot of good ideas percolating on this track! Very well-produced too. I did find the drum track just a tiny bit too loud towards the end, but this is nitpicking. I agree with Tobin about using a definitive melody instead of the arpeggios. Perhaps use chipuni's suggestion of using that beginning piano theme, which was quite nice! Great electronica piece! P.S. You bring up an interesting point about music being "theraputic" (instead of lying on the psychiatrist's couch). Listening to people's songs is like listening to their brains! That's one of the main reasons I'm enjoying MacJams so much. Check out my latest song called EPONYM

Nice Changes! Very Nice! I like the changes you arranged in this song. Many ambient/ electronic songs seem to not have enough changes to keep them interesting. I can easily get lost in this tune. Running My Fingers Through It After I ran my fingers through it, I felt it...and your inner beauty. I see you in there...I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad. I'm imagining how it is, how upredictable, unexplainable life and love is. How emotional and yet how desirable feelings of anything are. Good or bad it's all better than C, it's all better than blah, it's all better than being mute and feeling numb. |

This is my life! This gives me the impression of someone trying to make forward progress with all these diversions/ interruptions getting in the way. Very cool! I second (or third) the "musicmaking as cheap therapy" notion. I can't tell you how depressed I would feel if I wasn't creating stuff every night after the kids go to bed -- even if it's crap!!! Gobsmackingly Good I so enjoyed this piece... I love the layers that describe feelings and it is the sort of track one can get inside. (weird but I hope you understand). More more more. :) I also fourth or fifth the therapy. I feel the creative outpouring of emotion coming out of so many artists on this site. This track was a real pleasure.. I'd be very interested at some point, in working with you (if you dont mind) SlimGirlFat Check out my latest song called Not Enough

Interesting story "behind the music", but I simply don't get that from it at all. Seems to space age and techno for anything so earthy a topic as lust. So ignoring that fact for a moment, the song makes a good entry into its stated genre. Nice transitions. Your keyboard has some great sounds! Check out my latest song called Pearls of Perfection

Had to give this track a listen... Well thanks for the compliments! I didn't realize people would come back to listen to this "old" song after hearing the wonderful Moodee Remix. Next time I talk to him, I'll encourage Moodee to post the lyrics. They're pretty darn nifty if I do say so myself. (I think I just did say so!) Very nice tune!!! Like the bouncing back and forth in the earphones for sure. Loads of nice ideas and I mean loads. Your picture is just outstanding! To me very, very fitting for the tuning. It really gets your imagination going. I get a lot of inspiration from this whole package. I am glad I came over here. Thanks for the adventure. You sure are all over that keyboard! Neat Miss Chaos, As usual, nifty tune you've got here. I agree with chipuni that there could be a bit more motion, but I think you've got some inventive production. I like how you panned the tracks, and the cuts from left to right are just plain fun to listen to. Well done all in all. -Thelonius Check out my latest song called 08nov08

Smooth and yummy . . . Like a good ice cream. The panning effects are a nice touch. It changes it up a little and keeps it interesting. I'd like to possibly collab with you if you're interested. I know that my techno-y, fast-paced tracks are no match for your beautiful, soothing melodies and soundscapes though. I'm just very impressed with your work. You've managed to get your sounds in GarageBand to sound nothing like the sounds in GarageBand. I'm jealous. : ) Take care and please let me know re: a collab. technical question sweet song. not that i'll ever use this information, but since I was a pre-teen I wondered how a sound in a song can jump from left to right on a set of earphones. May I ask how you did that? Do you split the track and adjust the balance? We were just talking about balancing earlier, too : ) Check out my latest song called Este Momento

hey estille I didn't think anyone went back to these old songs of mine. Actually, I was very, very new to Garageband when I recorded this tune (which probably explains the lack of audio quality!). But the panning effect was done straight from my synthesizer and not GarageBand. Since I can use my synth as either a MIDI controller or as an Audio instrument (creating wav forms the way you do with your guitar and voice), I can use the built-in sequencers and effects instead of using GarageBand's. That way, I have more control and more sophisticated panning (the back-and-forth you described). Does this help? It's really a matter of sliding the audio back and forth between the left and right channels. You can do it easily with the "Track Pan" slider in Garageband. :-) Thanks for stopping by! --- . . : : From near to far, from here to there, funny things are everywhere : : . . — Dr. Suess Check out my latest song called Mama Cries - Album Version (MJRF)

Quite a nice new age song!
I would have loved to hear the piano piece that you used as the introduction within the main body of the song. It was a nice pattern. The closest that I heard was an echo in the guitar in the middle of the song.
I prefer to feel a bit more motion in the implied harmony. In particular, your use of the same note twelve times as a motif, and your arpeggios tended to be used a bit too much.
But you wrote a sweet piece of electronica, and I look forward to hearing more of your work!
