Description
A song of praise to sing with joyful abandon, because worship is expressing thanks for all the Lord has done for us. Sometimes we forget just how much He has done for us, and this song is how I feel when I'm looking at Him and not at me.

This song is 4:16 long. It has my guitar & voice, and GB piano & violins, each note penned in. Yes, of course it has harmony, need you ask?

Lyrics
Praise to the Lord, Glory to God
His name is Holy forever
Sing to the Lord, Jesus our Lord,
Maker of heaven and earth

On the Cross He took on all our sin
He died that we might live
When God looks at us, He sees Jesus instead
He rose again that we may give…

We walk with Him daily,
He hears all our prayers
Our joy is complete as we follow
His Spirit will lead us through all of our trials
No matter what hardships we have, so…

We will assemble and give thanks to Him
He promised He’ll never forsake us
We will remember the great things He’s done
Now let us all join in the chorus…

Nice touch,
starting the song with the chorus. Lyrics, message, voice, harmony were
all terrific. The only crit I can offer is to bring up the volume on your
vocals.

God bless,

Rick

Thanks, Rick
Hmmm... I left the levels at 0.0, and thought that if I raised them, it would be
too loud... any technical advice would be welcomed from anyone. I'm glad
you liked this and I might raise the levels and repost. Thank you. :-)

Levels
To enhance the beauty of the song, try any or all of the following:

1) Compress the vocals and pull out the mid/bottom midrange

2) Add gain to bottom mids of the guitar(s)

3) Add low end to the guitars or add a bass (or synth bass) to help round
things
out

Everything sounds like its all done in the same frequency range. Perhaps
you'll
want to reverse your effects; like making the vocals dryer.

Hope this helps

Oh, by the way. Not sure if I told you, but I was asked last minute last week to
fill in for the music director at church last Sunday and two Sundays ago. I'd
gotten the call the Thursday before the first Sunday. I stated that I was out of
practice and to use me as a last resort. Well, somehow, I ended up being "it".
It felt weird, humbling, uncomfortable and glorious. God is great. I don't
know where all this is leading, but for your part, I thank you for your prayer
and continue to covet them.

God bless you.

Wonderful
Such a beautiful song! Wonderful vocals. Beutiful hamonies. A heavenly
touch! It is getting better and better every time I listen. (And the volume
could be brought up not only on vocals by also on instuments, but maybe
mainly on vocals ... experiment!)

Ya know . . .
I think everyone gave fine advice on this as far as producing a song that would sound . . . well, like other songs. It has a live feel to it the way it is. I sense that you recorded the main voice along with the guitar? If not the voice sounds a little off mike which is why I guess the advice is to make it dry. In any case your vocalizations are beautiful and the feel of the song is "live" which is the best way for worship to be done anyway. I guess most folks just want to hear your voice up front and I can't blame them, but I feel that the song is unique in that it is distinctly non-studio in its presentation. Am I making any sense?

Yes
and this is funny, but I'm currently in the process of redoing this one, starting with syncing up the piano notes. I was going for a loose, jazzy type thing, but it didn't work. Also, I now have a better mic, and have learned (duh) to play guitar in a separate track. It will take me awhile to get it done, but it should be interesting to see if I can improve it. Thank you so much for your input! :-)
