Description
Almost to the end of my contributions to the Simply Fine recording...
I will eventually be taking some of the Simply Fine tracks back off of MacJams, so again, if you like it, this is the opportunity...
This one can be fairly represented as folk-rock, because it has drums and it has electric guitar....
The recording involved a solid but frustrating learning opportunity for me. Peter Janson, now doing business as MacJammer GuitarJanson, came in to do the elecric guitar playing. Peter is a super-professional, and he walked in with the then-new Zoom 9002 processor/amp emulator, and he had not only gotten the lines he would be playing just right, he had THE SOUND. Plugged directly into the board, and it was PERFECT. Our engineer, Tom, however, was of the school that wants all effects added in the mix. He asked Peter to turn off the effect blend, promising to get it back later when we mixed. It was my call, and I went with Tom. And, as good as Peter's playing was, we never got back the terrific sound he walked in with.
Even so, I still love the song, and Peter's playing. Phyllis more or less arranged the back and forth of the vocals and the gradual build of the instruments, and got to play some piano.
Musicians:
Ed Hannifin: lead and harmony vocals, acoustic guitar
Phyllis Capanna: lead and harmony vocals, piano
Peter Janson: electric lead and rhythm guitars
Tom Daley: bass
Carolyn Castellano: drums

Lyrics
Each And Every Single Time
Copyright 1986 Ed Hannifin
There was a stolen time, there was a pure time
There was uncertain time, and there was sure time
We’d all forgotten what a lure time
To empty hearts and hands can be
There were times of waiting for the sunrise
Times we waited for the moon
There were times when I couldn’t sleep nights
Time’s I might’ve slept too soon
Each and every single time
Each and every single time
Each and every single time
Is with me now, is with me now
Times of pushing, times of waiting
Making games out of anticipating
Games of building up and fading
Away, as slowly as can be
Each and every single time
Each and every single time
Each and every single time
Is with me now, is with me now
[Break]
There was a time when two women loved me
There was a time when two women kissed me
Now that they’ve had time to change their minds
Will there be time for either one to miss me?
Each and every single time
Every virtue, every crime,
Every action, every line
Is with me now, with me now

Very pro sound Ed - can't really go wrong with Phyllis and Peter of course! Man you sound so YOUNG! Nice production, great playing - singing, songwriting and playing all first class. I suspect this is my favourite of yours so far. A definite CSNY feel to it.
