Description
We found a poem written by a teen on a scrap of paper blowing around in the street in Brooklyn. It was poignant, sad, truthful and melodramatic. We edited them a little. This is the result. Lead Vocals by Matt M.

Lyrics
Tell Me a Secret
© Anonymous 2005
Sometimes I want to kill myself slowly
Over shit that doesn’t matter
And the pen and the key cannot express my rage
Cannot express my deadly rage
Tell Me a Secret
Never to see the light of day
That I try to avoid like life itself
I try to weave these words into webs
That I can live within
But life and love all over
Interrupted is my flow of blood
Blew through the hands of hate
Thick and black forever gone, erased and gone.
The demons in my head are banging
Banging to get out
Screaming in there, screaming in their torment
Escalating to infinity
Tell Me a Secret

Crisp production - tight and confident. The lyrics are particularly chilling to me (I'm a school psychologist by trade), and I've seen too many kids make some really disastrous decisions for themselves, their family and friends. The way you've turned their poetry into solid lyrics for a solid song is very impressive. I really hope they somehow have a chance to hear this sometime. Very well done - top playing and singing - harmonies work really nicely, and the simple solo is perfect for the rest of the song.
