	Just happy ........ .... to have another post. Very dynamic version - not sure of the changes (just after a rather long Christmas lunch) but really noticed the drums and extra clarity and volume on the vox. It's the same lead as before and I only changed the levels and balance on it in one small part, as I recall. The vocals are a little more dynamic, taken down just a tad in some places and up in a some others. The drums have only been slighty adjusted in the EQ, but enough, I hope, to give them a little more presence that I felt they needed in places.

Very nice
I love the sentiment and the guitar work in this. It's a tremendously heartfelt song. Mandatory download!!! ;) It sounds bizarre to say but this is what would happen if you put Pink Floyd and Screaming Trees together. Since those are 2 of my favorite bands, this song rocks. It's funny because I have a similar song called "without you."
There's a crazy Yin-Yang vibe on Macjams! Much respect and well done!

Other than panning and levels changes to just one section I think that's all I did to them, but the other slight changes might have cleared a little more space for them. Nice touch here. Have you been listening to RC Andrews lately? If so, he's been a good influence on you :)

This isn't a beef but the lede guitar sounds like it's coming from somewhere else. That's not necessarily a bad thing just you might want to consider a little less reverb and/or other effects on it when you get around to the CD version. Just a thought.

Tried to help the score a bit, but some dude must have had a bad day and bombed you...Sure should be among the top of the rating picks.

I think you have a good song here, and your performance is right on. Great vocals. I especially find the background sounds tasteful. Is it a slide guitar you have put some reverb and delay effects on? It gives a new dimension and a dreamy mood.
Everything is well played, and the production is brilliant!

Personality
Much more balanced. Definitely. This sound good, altho certain cymbals crashes could be louder. It has a Kevin Gilbert feel, which is high compliment. The vocals are as loud as possible (they were too loud in your first post). Really nice writing and vocal emotion and control. There are recordings that make the vocals seem important, not musically but metaphysically (Neil Young achieved that, for example, several times), and this track falls into that category. A combination of your performance (how the personality and meaningfulness comes thru), your recording technique, and the bridge and backing music, and the compelling-truthful lyric. Nice track.

I've read your bio before, and you mention in it that you haven't done music in the distant past.. so for the kind of music that you have created in recent years, it is amazing!.. from a total amateur to the admirable level of musical artistry that you have attained. There are very few people here who have achieved that ascent in such a short period of time.. composing, singing and production, you've gone up to a higher plane indeed... more power to you.

Subtile and Refined
I listened to both versions a couple of times. Love the song in both versions. For some reason I connected more emotionally with the other mix. Perhaps the vocal stands more proud in the other mix, and to me that version has more of an edge, which I prefer over refinement. It's just a personal preference that Im guessing most don't share. Im the last person to consider on technical matters, I can only offer opinions and you know what they say about opinions. Brilliantly fine work in both cases.

Other than a very slight adjutment to the levels in places it's the same vocals. I think the place where it's most reduced is in the first few lines of the first verse where the slight reduction in volume does reduce soem of the closeness and detail a tad. But I think I'm happier with it as is than before in the big picture. Jusr is still out on a few spots like that. But it also makes a big difference depending on what speakers or headphones one is listening in on. My Bose speakers tend to give the vocals more presence than my Sony headphones. Before I do a final CD master I will have tested it out on a wider variety of speakers to find the best mix.

I appreciate your listening to both and comparing.

Thanks, _. Well, there was the first post of the live demo of me playing it on guitar in one take shortly after writing it but there was just one previouse version to this latest of the "studio" version. You may be referring to the version number on the mp3 file itself. If I've learned anything in my years using computers in my profesional work it's to SAVE ITERATIONS as you go. Every time I make a change that is significant enough to be a loss if the file got hosed I give a new number to; if I merely make a single EQ or levels tweak it usually just gets an alphabetical tag onto the number. By the time I'm done with a song there might be 20+ GB projects on the hard drive, and when I'm done I'll delete all but the very first (for nostalgia sometimes) and the last and second to last versions for safety.

So, you really didn't miss much.

Well, i missed the first x number of versions of this, but I'm glad i came across this now. Lovely production and performance, and you've got a Great American voice. Subtle but forceful, this is great - the only thing I don't like is how you sing the word 'space', which sounds out of kilter with the rest of the vocal. Great lazy draggy/druggy feel, kinda Ziggy era Bowie.

Sterling stuff.

This is a very haunting song, with great story and vocals. The guitars are excellent and driven. I like how the song has several passages, starts out mellow, the verses, and to the solo and the strong finale. As far as production there aren't much to say but that it's almost perfect. I would add a bit of more bass, perhaps not everywhere, but in some sections - but again, this in mainly a personal reflection. It's a very good song. /Mikki

	Unexpected It just sorted of sounded countryish for the verse and then I was surprised by an interesting chord change that very Bowie-ish and then further surprised but the song rocking out.
