Description
On another music site there was a contest that paired two artists randomly. My partner was Artist08 and this was our entry.

Tim (Artist08) did all the musical bed and male vocals. I did the female vocals and wrote the lyrics. We both had a great time making this song and I hope you enjoy it!

Love In Cyberspace

Went online to
Check the news
War and storms and
Personal views
I clicked away
Not in the mood
Needed to change
My attitude
Found a web page
With a net sage
Such a grand place
It's love in cyberspace

We type and chat and click
Emoticons are flowing thick
Our fingers fly on keys
Passion in computerese
All trolls -- we give them hell
In bold H.T.M.L

Emails and
Some hot IMs,
Sexy forwards,
Audio dems,
Photos on the
Blogosphere
Yet it feels like
We're the only ones here
Google me, dear
And it'll be clear
In this grand place
It's love in cyberspace

We type and chat and click
Emoticons are flowing thick
Our fingers fly on keys
Passion in computerese
All trolls -- we give them hell
In bold H.T.M.L

You make me
L. O. L.
Smiley faces make
My heart swell
No more playing
Solitaire
Our mouses click
In rhythmic pair
We'll never be the same
It has a name
In this wondrous place
It's love in Cyberspace

wonderful!
This is a winning collab combination of excellent musical bed, vocals and lyrics!

The words speak so truly of our cyber-times these days.

You have a great range of vocal expression and inflection, depending on the words. Very subtle and artistic.

Great to hear something by you here again.

ROFLAO, indeed!

thoughts from the bull...
this was a terrifically fun listen. for me, it's got an almost (and i don't like comparing, but sometimes it's worth noting) Stan Getz feel to it. kind of a sixties-pop-theme for an obscure sci-fi Marlo Thomas movie that never got released or something.

obvioulsy the humor is dead on, but it's presented in such a way that it's so everyday and so typical (no more Solitaire! LOL!), that if you really read into the words, you may find it strange that this song would have made absolutely no sense just 10 years ago.

this addresses the timelessness of the piece. it's very "right now," and I wonder how it will hold up in another 10 years. i imagine new terminology will replace the current and we'll be singing "Love in a Scratch Mod" or "Amorific Tendencies Outside the Polymorphic Region."

anyhow, great to hear your voice! Artist08 is terrific and you should encourage him/her to maybe visiting MacJams (hint, hint, wink, wink!).

thanks, Joanna!

Excellent
The vocals and music... all really nicely done. FWIW, some of the lyrics made me LOL. Good work guys!

fun stuff
Although the overdriven kick drums were a little distracting in the (headphone) mix, the rest of this was very fun. Light-hearted music, good guitar work, typical Joanna magic lyrics make me smirk... great singing from both of you too...

Most enjoyable!
Whoooo ... Joanna, your voice just grows in confidence and subtlety all the time! It's lovely to see you posting again. This is a great job from both of you ... wonderful rich and sparkly music bed. The male vocal harmonies are beautifully placed too to enhance the whole effect. Very fine indeed.

That's a pretty good match for a random pairing, I reckon!
