Lyrics
Somewhere South of the dirty water
Is where you’ll find my friends & me
With the arab the thief and the gypsy
And the pretty runaway teenager
We all were from the OTHER country
Drifting all night through our city
Finding slogans for one century
Till the best of us did go crazy

It was love on the left bank
We talked
And we drank
We walked
And we drank
Going in circles in the night
Consumed by a fire so bright…

No one was ever sure to be there
When the week would be finishing
Here Time burned stronger than anywhere
And you could feel that the earth was shaking
Ready to set the world on fire
So that it could shine much brighter
There ‘ll never be greater freedom
And No wisdom will ever come

It was war on the left bank
We talked
And we drank
We walked
And we drank
Going in the circles in the night
Consumed by a fire so bright…
