Great tone!
Wow, that's some cool tone you've got coming out of that guitar! Is that wah from GB or is it a pedal? Damn, it sounds like a vocoder, it's so expressive! Cool little tune here - some of the percussion elements are a little loud in the mix and jump out at me, but are otherwise well-placed. Some of them seem kind of random, popping in and then popping out, which distracts from the guitar playing, which is really the star of the show here. Nice mellow bass tone and dreamy feel to the whole piece - there's some kind of timing hiccup with the drums in a few spots. I'd definitely bring that guitar up and let it do its thing. GREAT tone and fretwork - and a vivid extension of a human voice.

Thanks Bing
That's a GB wah. I altered the other channel for the lead. True. Perc a little dominant in spots. Originally, I was going to play it without effects and assign them later. When I found the wah, it became a lot more fun! The perc missed a beat or two...but it was too late to notice, last night!

Thanks for stopping by!

thump
and HOW d'ya get the rich thump on the kick drum?

Cool effect on the guitar - like a foreshortened wah or something... with the swagger in the timing.

Nice kicked back cruisin' song! a little short... :)

Hi Harold!
Yah, it was a bit short for me, too. Mini-jam!

The drums are just random luck. The lead was a bit of tweaking!

It's sunny and 75 in Madison. It is great cruisin' weather!

Thanks for stopping!

...
way cool. You really get into this .. I also like
the expressive wah .. kinda giving touches of "Bloody well right" by Supertramp at times then some easterny
alomst sitarish effect on some bits too .. that
combined with the modernised front porch sound of
'battery powered practice amp' rhythm guitar (kinda lo-fi) and upright bass with a bit keen percussionist who must have taken up the whole porch with his assortment of gear :o) (those sticks, tambourine are a little loud, shakers were ok, where is his wash-board?) .. it's really groovy doug, enjoyed this, thanks for sharing - remarkably satisfying what a few mins work
can produce.

Well alright Doug....
....so I'm not the first one on the block, but I'm glad I made it here at last! very groovey (I haven't used THAT one for awhile). I don't know how you got the GB wah to work so well. I've tried it a number of times but have never gotten a satisfactory sound. This tune took me back to the days (daze?) of "Ultimate Spinach!" Only---on reflection---you just may sound better than they did! Thanks for the heads up bro. I've had one hell of a day so far. This tune went a long ways towards settling me down!

Be well bro!
Doadars Uncle said 932 days ago (April 22nd, 2007)
Peace Mike!
I hope things go well with you. And as far as being first, I guess this is a "you snooze" type situation. Glad you swung by!

Great mood, your forte! I like it
for a first cut at it.....

great wah.

I do hear brushes on cymbals and/or high-hat, instead of the wood block...

Guitar is perfect, maybe bring it up a tad.

Ending needs a little polishing, maybe repeat the next to last phrase a few times, or something... watta I know?

Thanks Bro!
Something softer would fit well, it's true.

Hey, that ending caught me off guard, too! I layed my first track thinking I had a bit more!!! Much to my suprise, I came to the end and well, I guess it just ended! Sais la vie!

It will be fun to readdress when I need a creative purge.

Thanks Steve,
Doug

Great fx!
What a neat wah sound Doug! I'd like to hear this with just the drums - maybe the percs are a little too much for the tune (although I can understand why you would have used them - FUN!). Very relaxed.
Cheers from laid-back Oz!

Wah ditty wah...
You really got that guitar speaking to me! Can't believe the wah is from GB. Awesome production on that and I like the unexpected percussion as well. Kept me guessing all the way through.

Meeeeeow!
Cat's pajamas, man! This was great fun, really put a much-needed smile on my face today! There was something slinky, strutty and feline about the wah-wah guitar, and because most of the other instruments were so subdued and low-EQed, the occasional brightness of the lead guitar actually tickled my ears sometimes, gave me that cat's ear-twitch, but in a good way (and if you can imagine a dragon wearing headphones, ear-twitches are hard on them, they often flip across the room accidentally.) Anyway, simple, grooving, delightful bit o' blues... love it, could bathe in 10 minutes of this.

Drakonis

This little jam could have gone on longer. But as I laid the base tracks, I didn't realize how much fun I could have with it. Always an issue with time!

Thanks for stopping!
