Messages I usually don't send out messages in my music at least not conscious ones but this piece demanded it. Thanks ic42 -Best, Bowman Check out my latest song called The Orion Express - MJ Space Race 2009 by Bowman

Flight over you can do it always with diffrent ways you can just wave your hand with your paint brush and the world will see honest colors . I can digest the confusion dunno maybe cos I m living it ? ...views over views this is how I took the sequence of this piece but the hearted theme still linger since the beginin . its a cenamatic which why its very successfull co it speak itself . thank you for sharing it p.s this tower ..almost half mile from where I am now .. !! peace Check out my latest song called A Night With Feter feat'(Roxylee sloparts crissew johnwhitehead and Yamin AL Yamani )

Feter... ...your comments especially about this piece mean a great deal to me. You of all people know what's going down on the ground. I only from a distance - but what I see distresses me. I hope what you live through is a better world than the one I see from above. If I knew you were so close I would have shouted down a hello as I metaphorically flew by. Take care my friend, -Charlie Check out my latest song called The Orion Express - MJ Space Race 2009 by Bowman

Nice! are the strings loops? I have yet to use loops. The middle Eastern sounds mixed with the dissonance creates a feeling of anxiety for an unfinished war. I liked it. Thank you! Check out my latest song called Simple Feelings

Thanks Enrique, Glad you dropped on by and check out Flight Over Baghdad. I'm not a fan of premade loops I don't use loops except for the occasional ones that I make myself. This war is a tragedy that has caused much pain for many people. I think about it a lot and and in a small way this expresses my feelings about it. -Best Bowman Check out my latest song called The Orion Express - MJ Space Race 2009 by Bowman

Baghdad... "Arresting" is the word that comes to mind with this piece. The chopper at top and bottom are perfect and your dissonant score highlights the danger and horror of what's going on over there right now. You sure have an ear for the sweeping orchestration and it is so well balanced here. Did I enjoy the number? That's an impossible question. Did it make me think, reflect, and grab my heart? No question there at all. You have found a way to get inside the listener...and that's always magic. Peace. Paul Check out my latest song called Double Etude

Nearly missed this.... ...which would've been a damn sin. This is so well structured - the start is kinda grand and sweeping, but then the 'arabian' sounding instrumnets add a feeling of discord, as if it's all gonna go south ... which of course it did. Love the way you use the percussion on this to ground it. What really impresses me here is that you've used an instrumental track to communicate such a clear message, using emotions rather than words. Smart stuff. I'm not a songsmith. Really can't put words to my music. When I do it's pathetic. All I got are sounds. But the right sounds put together in the right way speak very clearly. Thank you for "hearing" all you heard Steve. Coming from a great songwriter that means a great deal to me. Oops. Looong comment. Thanks for the invitation, I'm glad I finally took my time to listen carefully. I particularily like the duduk (?) in this soundtrack, which is just such an usual instrument to use with western orchestration. Very nice idea. To me it represents the helplessness of the situation, the voice of lament one instrument being almost drowned by a "storm" of strings. If there was one thing which I heard differently it would be the percussion. Why not use Arabic drums to contrast the Western orchestration (ever listened to "Tempest" from "The Insider" soundtrack, or even the "5th Element" sountrack by Eric Serra - very interesting by the way). Just an idea. I would also use the cymbal more sparingly. But you have a great concept here. I sure could have used some of that subtle energy in the string arrangement to make 1001 Lacrime a more complete soundtrack...I'd love to hear more in that vein. We've heard so little "mainstream" soundtrack music with middle eastern influence, not since the good old Gladiator anyways. Thanks again for reminding me of your post, well worth listening!! Interesting thoughts... ...about the percussion. I thought it might be fun contrast playing an arabic like rhythm with orchestra snare drums. I will try ethnic Arabic drums and see how it plays with them. Like you I am intrigued by middleastern music. Picked up the Insider album years ago and liked it and will go back and listen again. Don't remember the music the 5th element though but I'll check that out. I consider your 1001 Lacrime a masterpiece of the genre. It's hard to believe it could get much better. And if anyone reading this hasn't yet heard it they should stop reading and get right to it. Thanks for taking the time to write such detailed comments. Always great to hear from you Parichayaka. Great job I just left a comment for your previous piece, and I'll repeat myself by saying you once again succeed in painting a very vivid picture through music. I like the way it builds; the percussion pattern that opens the piece works great. I also like the use of the exotic wind instrument sound; it really fits in. And I particularly like the couple of spots where it turns more dissonant, and I think it would be interesting to go even further with the dissonance... but that's just me! And yes, I once again wish it were longer. Great job here! Check out my latest song called Scarlet Nightfall

Whenever... ...I start to explore dissonance I often ask myself how far can I go? If I remember that somewhere down the Macjams road you'll be lending me your educated ear I'll know that it probably isn't far enough. Our willingness to explore the "dark" side is a balancing act. We want to please but sometimes you need raise the hairs on the back of your listeners neck. Clark, I thank you for encouraging me to do that and for encouraging me to always go further. The way you weave in... ...the music of the region and then add the dissonances is almost terrifying. I have friends there. Could be extended, if you ever wanted. You had me captivated from beginning to end. This is truly great, Bowman...if "great" can describe a picture of such sorrow and chaos.. Check out my latest song called Outside the Corral

the dissonances mar the beauty... the beauty (consonance) appears briefly, but is trampled. it is a feeling of depression and anxiousness. the mode and melodies chosen do not give a picture of the middle east. but the music paints a picture of atrocity. message received. 0x0
