Description
this is the original version of this song. The first thing I made when I got my mac. this is where i learned to make loops, play with midi instruments, and all the other fun things i now take for granted.

Thanks, man
I was just about to post a response to your response to my comment about the edited version of this, suggesting that you post the full version, when I noticed I had an email informing me that you had posted a new song. "Could it be?" I asked myself (although not aloud...) and here I am. This is great - imaginative and well-executed. Ambition and reach, or (to put it more pompously) vision, are not the same as self-indulgence. When I write a 4-minute pop song, it's because that's what I hear in my head. If I hear Shine On You Crazy Diamond any time soon (please, oh muse...!) I'll be writing that. Nice work. By the way, are you familiar with Susumu Yokota? Cheers. Peace.

Thank you, again!
I am humbled by your articulate praises. I like that line...ambition, reach (and) vision are not the same as self indulgence. You don't know how much i've needed to hear that lately. I've wondered if i'm completely lost sometimes when i'm working on something, and that i might be the only person who likes what i'm doing. if I even like it. sometimes I can't tell.
One song in particular (It Holds No Faith) kept me busy for about two weeks. when i finally finished it, I thought it was one of the best things i'd done since I was a teen (which is when my songs were frequently in the 10-15 minute mark), but not one person has liked it. At first i was bothered, or disappointed, then i thought i don't really give a rat's ass what anyone else thinks, but now i'm realizing that, if i'm still going on about that damn song now, even if it's only a reference point...
...uhhh...I completely forgot where i was going there. sorry.
It all started when my grade 11 english teacher told me i was too "wordy". How can an english teacher find poetry too wordy? If it doesn't tickle your taste buds, sure, you don't like it. I can handle that, but to poke holes in my entire grasp of our language and it's possible usage, however hopelessly romantic it may be...
...you see? right there. that's where I get self indulgent, and I'm afraid some of my stuff is just that.
anyway, thanks.
