Lyrics
I'll take you there

I'll take you anywhere

Across the county line

To the sea

Just you and me

This is so..
beautiful in it's simplicity, (though I guess it wasn't so simple to do). So-o-o-o relaxing and I love the shimmering violins, M

Just
as an afterthought, it's a pity there's no way to remove the metronome when the song is finished in GB, M

i occasionally really get into minimalism. and you're right. leaving out things is difficult. it's so tempting to add more and more...

thank you

Opening into the universe...
and what did you discover there? Surely you didn't disappear! I think you should write part two to this and let us know whaqt happens next. I like the slow build and thn the fading clock. It is very effective.

hi Roxylee - who knows if i ever come back here? i was thinking about that tv show Cosmos (Sagan)...

i'm into the sound of clocks i guess

thanks

this is a great film scoring .. love it. Has that
sweet simplicity and nice swells on the strings ..
good mix too.

I would use some sample for the clock that was more
clock like eg. an occasional chiming grandfather clock
instead of your more metronomic sound myself. Small
nit needless to say .. you could try The Freesound Project, just requires attribution of any samples
used.

Kudos.

actually, i've used Freesound Project quite a bit - a nice resource - and if you leave a note on the sample that you used it on your song, often you'll get a wonderful reply as well. it's way fun!

here, i guess i wanted a very simple metronomic tick. although it's about time, i wanted to avoid clocks. if that makes sense.

thanks!

Taking time to unwind. This is the way. Thanks.

yes! regardless of all the other stuff that may or may not be implied here, there is one simple thing about this song.

it is a song for your own "unwinding time".

thanks for picking up on it.

great space
A very nice 'mood' piece -- I can visualize different film sequences that this would be nestled naturally in. Have you submitted tracks for film licensing?

i know what you mean. i have listened to this many times, even after posting it, and i keep seeing different scenarios... i guess it's just blurry enough to pattern match with lots of possible places.

thank you

time
what really got me thinking here. was J. lennon singing on this. something in style of the imagine timeline. Nice work on the strings they come up and envelop the ears.

Another excellent piece, Bill.

i think i know what you mean. it's that piano part... it's about as minimal as you can get. only the iiib is a tad unusual, and that is something the Beatles used quite often...

thanks

i say go for it!

if need be, i could put up an open collab version of this to allow people to add what they like to it. let me know.

there is a lot a "open space" here to let the listener fill it in with what's in their head.

thanks

So evocative.
Vangelis comes to mind here a bit, with all the cheezy parts stripped off. It does have a lovely metronomic feel conveying the slow, sad(?), and inevitable progression of time. A great example of storytelling by simplicity.

i'm glad you mentioned Vangelis - Roxylee almost got there by mentioning the universe... i'm pretty sure the music from Carl Sagan's Cosmos influenced me here...

I remember being here before and reading
the tau thing. I must have gotten distracted before posting my comment on this stately tune. Well played and arranged - I like the slow intro of more voices and the tempered way in which you use them.

Eclectic, at best. I learned some music theory at school, and read a ton about it since. I've listened to lots of music over the years. I once played guitar in an actual garage band and actually got paid to play! Once. Although live performance is an... [see more]
