fostex vf-80
8 track. I used one of these for about three years, untill one day i plugged it in and nothing happened.
I later got it going well enough to retrieve any songs i had on it, but could no longer mix, master or record anything.
this is the turn of fate which eventually got me to buy my mac. Yay!
Glad you liked this one. see you around.

fostx
yeah, you didn't miss much. you know the web system that runnes between all the physical buttons? garbage. In three years six or seven buttons fell of.
burning cd's takes forever (they come out pretty hot)
doing things like panning left and right in real time are really awkward.
on board effects are not great, though I did really enjoy the stereo pan delay. It was one of the nicer stereo delays i've used.
I didn't have a terrible experience with it, but I don't think I'd buy another one.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

thanks for stopping by and commenting.
see you around.

some great guitar work. some of that drop tuning really add depth. Do you remember how far you tuned down?

deep trouble
i believe i tuned the whole guitar down to C, then dropped the top string to b flat. I know it was that for for at least one of these four songs, the others i'm pretty sure are only 1/2 step up from that though.
I had an Ibanez 7 string about...holy shit, ten years ago? hmmm. (i just turned twenty-seven last week, and i'm struggling with it. Maybe at least i'll get my midlife crisis out of the way early.)
Anyway, with a beefy set of strings the trusty Les Paul can get heavy enough for anything i'm interested in getting into, ya know?

Good to hear from you. thanks for stopping by.

Ya, I know.
The vocals help this one out a lot. I think the intro suggests a build up to something with a little more tension. No?

nice
i consider this a piece (as aposed to a song). I still here that progressive thing shining through all those dirty tones. I know you hate being pigeon holed into a genre. But you do come from the land of Rush, Is it something in the water? This is some excellent music! Regards

hahahahahaha
I wouldn't drink the water in this town.
Actually, while trying to come up with a witty, yet meaningful response it occured to me for the first time that for as long as I've been playing and performing around this part of Ontario (the greater toronto area, and the further reaching farm and forestry lands of the kawarthas and muskokas), there has never been much of a scene anywhere that I belonged to, or felt comfortable in. I think the music situation around here allows you to do whatever you want.
I went to a studio last weekend with a friend of mine and it was this really, really diverse scene. A few rasta guys, some metal heads, a guy who claimed to listen to nothing but the greatful dead, and some beatnik, poet types. We all just grabbed instruments and drums and stuff and went to town for like two hours. it felt very liberating, like your first highschool band.

I'm rambling; perhaps still feeling the effects of being in such a small space with so many...uhh...people who... partake.

Despite my hesitation to choose one, I still use labels all the time, and progressive is definately something I would be honoured to be considered a part of, however; it probably wouldn't hurt to practice a hell of a lot more before I start using words like that.

Happy independence day.
