Description:
I got what I asked for, solos.
Karmatoburn, iG.STUiDO, and peacepiano, all contributing to this now very cool jam.
Let…
Karmatoburn’s synth get you all into it…then,…
iG.STUiDO’s tenor sax. The Cool tones. Less is more.
NICE
Accompanied by peacepiano’s electric piano fills, which are accompanied in some measures by trombone arrangements (from he same file) to bring the whole thing together…
DEPTH
to enhance the mood…I put a little spacey prelude of the melody(fx) (Ilya’s SAX) up, in front of the mix…topped off with reverb on the final mix…
What do you think…comments please…
Thanks to the great trio of new friends

What a nice vibe this song has - I love when a song's groove is able to paint a picture in my mind - well done gentlemen!
Blessings

Its nice to think, someone else has finally listened this tune, instead of me in my head phones, while mixing.
There is plenty of time to conjure up visions.
I love that our music does that to u

Warning...
The tune is long...the soloists stretch out nicely.
its worth the time, special guests are great.
Karmatoburn, iG.STUiDO, and peacepiano
there is an epilogue, yes after the long fade...
it just seamed right.
Maybe there will be a 'single' version

In an era of 3 min pop songs (amd I'm guilty as hell), it's good to have a track that takes its time to evolve. Production on this is ace, Tim, and the playing is sublime - great to hear real musicians do their thing - everything fits together really well - love how the sax and bass play together!
A real cool piece.

I came back for the solo's.
Nice job guys...
the tune has a different feel than the first mix.
The soloist blasts the tune off...

I dig the way the sax comes in with his solo. Then never overplays.
All the playing is great.
The mix sounds good too.
timothy devine
Thank you for coming back to here the solos.
Glad you liked them.

timothy devine
Thank you for sending me such a cool solo to mix in.
Your sax adds the sound that I thought the tune needed.
Great playing from a great player.
I hope to work with you again sometime.

Super mix. You balance the new parts well, so that we sound like we were in the room together. Thanks for having me aboard.
timothy devine
Thanks for your piano lines, they stick in my head.
They fit so well with the sax solo that its hard to believe we weren't in the same room.
Karma I guess!

This have turned out to a bag of goodies. I'm sorry I haven't returned your call on this. But I haven't found the right time/inspiration to get into this, or any other recordings lately.
Listening to the cool sax theme, and the touches of piano and synth that has enriched this piece. I love the feel of this groovy jam. Very relaxed and cool.
timothy devine
I have been through the writers block so to speak with the recording as well.
Time will fix that. Its gonna change.
You are way too talented to not be inspired for long.
No need to apologize bout not playing, you have to play when it feels good. I totally understand. I was just thinking your bluesy approach would fit nicely in this mix.
Another time.

thank you for your kind words

Tim, I agree with peace piano. You've created a mix and blend that makes it sound like we're all in the same room, late at night doin the jam and mellowing in the groove. Thx for letting me play along
timothy devine
It was your solo that put the fire in the tune.
Your contribution is superb, and kicks off the tune to a new level with your inspired playing. I love you solo.
Thank you for joining in.
This was a very cool collab.

I totally dove in to this.
It pulled me in and sent me on a ride.
Thank you man.
The chords you use just fill the room at just the right time, so perfect.
The synth soloist really streached on this and was cooking.
The sax solo is so captivating with the sweetest tone.
I really dig this tune

I think the sax is so important in this song because it is not electric and brings the added dimension of a real instrument. The drums are also very well done. Nothing heavy handed or overwhelming.
Having all synth or electric piano sounds can make a piece one dimensional. Having said that the sounds that you have from the keyboards blend well together and create a very satisfying mood and sound.
All you guys did a great job. I agree with the others that the mix is excellent, especially the panning.
Way to go!
timothy devine
thanks for your very positive comment.
I totally agree with you about the one dimensional problem with some keyboard stuff.
The Sax is what this tune needed.
Also it was a friend of mine who wrote the the melody riff we used and he played it on tenor sax.
We use to jam to that riff in the early eighties
somewhere i have an old tape of us jammin

This vibe is where you shine, Tim: that netherzone between 'smooth jazz' and the real thing. There's enough tasty stuff here to satisfy even the shallowest commuter, but also enough uncommon changes and loose ends to keep it vital and alive. I'm a total fan of that kind of broad musical balancing act; plus, it sounds like it was fun....
Beautiful job!!
timothy devine
You words mean very much because you found a way of categorizing the sound i have found.

I like that, my own genre

Sultry smooth jazz sounds. Everything seems to smoulder and simmer in each others juice.... LOL sounds like a recipe... a very 'tasty' recipe.... what's not to like? so-o-o relaxing and brilliantly played by all concerned, M

This is exceptionally good, I think the melding of stylistic approaches and the variety of superb phrases in this piece are an example of real musical synergy. I hope you do more together as this piece is on a whole different level. Very Very impressive.
timothy devine
You have paid such a great complement. Thank u.
Your words mean a lot.
I hope to do more of this type of collab.
Thanks

Haven't listened to any Jazz in more years then most of the people on MacJams have been alive, but after hearing this I just might come back to it.
This is a subtle and evocative piece of work with excellent mixing, giving each part the space it needs to breathe. And breathe it does. And I think the comments about the sax being the missing part of the puzzle are dead on. It pulls you deeper into the swirling world of colors and dreams.
Thanks for writing to me and inviting me into your world. It's filled with craft and mood, and feeling.
Bravo to you and your collaborators on a wonderful piece of music for the soul.

Don't know how I missed this. Some very cool playing - especially like the sax, but it really is all very good. Some lovely bass bits - guitar and keys too. This takes me back to my (misspent) youth and could easily have come from a Saturday jam in Avalon, north of Sydney where some brilliant musicians would just appear for a play. Great fun because you never knew who you'd be playing with on any particular day - I love th way you've made this sound impromtu when it (by definition here at MJ) had to be reasonably planned.
Great track.

Thanks for coming over for a listen.

I have ever heard, anywhere, anytime. It feels intimate.
It is soulful. It is perfect. Thank you.
timothy devine
Great comment!!!
Interesting you say those things about how intimate it all sounds
cause i was amazed putting it together. I thought mixing this one would take forever BUT it just fell into place like putting the last piece of a 1000 piece puzzle into place
it just fill in...
totally do to the great players for sure
i didn't touch johns(ktbs) solo at all, just dropped it in /i.G too
incredible players
