Hey MJers! Its been a while... for me. :)

I FINALLY upgraded my iMac and got to record a track (this track) without GB timing out on me.

This is a real scribble of an arrangement of the Godfather Theme...My rendition of Michael Corleone meeting Tony Montana (Scarface). Having a sit-down, if you will.

Well, here it is with all its pings, pops, sweet and sour notes.

This tune is totally tongue in cheek... one I play for kicks and giggles. Truth be told, I do love the melody.

You can enjoy it and/or laugh at it, too!

Its great to finally record something, again!

As I play this, I imagine salsa piano playing the rhythmic chord work with a bed of horns (trombones for that Willie Colon sound) in the background, as opposed to strings, (although strings would keep it sounding closer to the soundtrack feel) plus congas and guiro... Not hearing timbales.

Its nice to dream...sigh!

	Thanks Clark My father and godfather (for real) played together and would take American Pop ballads and retool them with a Latin flair. I guess I couldn't help myself on this number. :) They're both jamming in a better place, now. I kind of wish they could've heard this little comp of mine. Maybe they've been listening all along. 	Thank you, Feter I'm no Joe Pass, but this is my best piano-style guitar playing I could come up with for this number. My nylon string guitar is plugged-in via my preamp. No mics used here. 	The Godfather Theme Fun Scorp! I can see Marlon Brando sitting in a flamenco club, lookin at all the pretty dancers doing there special dances. Like the stops and all the special guitar nuances. Cool sounds to right before the ending, percussive lower single note lines with that special latin flavor. Way to go Scorp! Check out my latest song called The Bluebird Cafe (with two other guest)

Waiting for the sequel
I usually try to imagine playing the guitar parts of music I hear. I can't imagine doing this. It's beautiful - and recorded well to boot.

A digression, but: How about another version using overdriven electric guitar, drums, bass, etc? Alex Chilton or his version of Volare, but it's a reference point for my suggestion here (in case you remember or want to look-up that cool tune)
