excellent sound It's nice to hear a pleasant piano improvisation on this hot day (I live in Northern CA too). Quite a heat wave we're having! You have a good touch on the keys and an affinity for improvisation. I can relate only too well to the pauses; you want to make it right! There were just a couple of spots which might have flowed better had you kept the phrase moving forward -- but this is a minor "nit" -- it's an improvisation, after all! I was particularly impressed with the quality of the recording; the piano sounded excellent. You make good use of the sustain pedal; not muddy, very lyrical. I am always interested in the "how/when/where" of recordings -- what software did you use? Was this a live piano? If so, what mics and how did you place them? You might want to include this kind of thing in your song descriptions. Very enjoyable listening. Thanks for sharing! Check out my latest song called EPONYM

Thanks Thanks Cameron for your great comments. I agree with you - there are a few places where the pause were not so much intentional, more of a "oh what am I going to do next?!" but like you said, that's improv! I'll probably fix this up and smooth out the rough spots some day. To answer your questions...there's really not alot more to tell than the song description...haha. I have a full-size Gem PS1600 keyboard that I use as my midi input into Garageband. And the piano sound is just the "Grand Piano on Stage" GB instrument. Nothing special. Lazy Afternoon What a GREAT touch you've got on that thar piano! This is extremely lovely - we're enjoying it in a hotel room somewhere in north central WA after a day of fabulous motorcycling through 100 degree heat. This is a perfect song to ease us into a relaxing evening before hitting the road again tomorrow. Great work shay - you are SO gifted! Check out my latest song called Symphonic Smackdown

an... tici... ...pation. That's what those pauses felt like, sort of like a kite, swaying lazily, then diving down, then struggling back up to its rightful place in the sky. Very pretty, elegant improv. And I agree with Cameron, that sampled piano sounded exquisite, probably a lot of that had to do with the broad range od dynamics you used while playing, made it very expressive and "alive". ttfn, Drakonis Check out my latest song called Temporal Tantrum (Sister Savage Mix)

Just an... ...honest and unaffected piano improv. It is very pleasant to listen to, and I am enjoying it immensely. You get a great echo-y sound from your keyboard, but it isn't muddy at all. Peace. Paul Check out my latest song called Double Etude

Lazy Very sweet. Nicely played and a good piano tone as well. The chord progression you chose makes harmonic sense and the melodic motif is well established. Just be careful of phrasing, some of those pauses seem to linger too long in my mind, but don't let that discourage you, tis very well done! Check out my latest song called You Got Me (remix)
