Description:
Not so long ago, I had uploaded a rough and unfinished version of "red salt", which
featured a lot of sounds inserted by chance with the purpose to bloat the track.
Even so, It yelded some interest, specially from Michael2, which gave me
tips and motivation enough to still working on it.
So, I asked him to help me because, at the time, I thought I couldn´t finish it
(as with happens with almost everything I try to do).
In a very short while Michael put some excellent clean guitar over the track and we both
really enjoyed the direction the song was taking. He recorded it again and added
ebow and bass guitar and it was up to me to finish it, because he had already done
the harder work, for sure.
Then I let it rot in my hard drive.
Until yesterday.
I was working on it again and then audacity crashed...
I hadn´t backed up any file.
Fortunately, I had a WAv of my last attempt and I could restart from there.
Here is the result.

Lyrics:
Still unclear which one won.I won´t know ´til they´re dead and gone
His life´s a cheating sum
and her days crumbling one by one
Dust mistaken for Gold
A fresh feeling that´s oh so old
Motors shuddered then halted
From your blood and your tears, RED SALT

But at the begining I thought it was not that good.

...it's great that you were able to save this track from oblivion. I've lost stuff in crashes before. It's scary and frustrating!
I really like your lyrics. "Dust mistaken for Gold..."
Really cool soundbed friend, and you're right...Michael DOES make anything sound great that he plays or plays on.
Be well!

i dig this a lot!
cool and abstract but it holds together in a cool way. I really like it how it changes through out. your vocals where great, even though it was a bit brief. a wonderful tripping piece.
yrp
May I ask for your guitar skills one of these days?
michael2
i just got back from vacation. this turned out so good. i am really glad you didn't lose this one, i really had fun playing on this. those drums were driving me through the entire time, kind of reminds me of Can in a way (who I worship). so glad you finished this one. vocal parts are excellent too, really upped the trippy factor.
yrp
glad you approved the final mix.
I wouldn´t finish it was for your help.
Thank you again, as always.
Hope you had a great vacation;I will start mine september 1st and will have a month to trip and mess up.
lavalamp
