Lyrics:
Baby, Baby (version 3)[refrain]
Baby, baby, you know that I love you
Baby, baby, you know that I want you
You're the sparkle in my sip of wine
sending tingles up and down my spine
You're the one I'd always hoped to find
shining brightly through my daily grind
Let's take a walk along a country road
Climb a mountain with a lighter load
Come, hold my hand and be my waking dream
Our love'll ripple like a pebbled stream
[refrain]
The richest moments spent don't cost that much
The greatest treasure's in a simple touch
Though short on dollars, we make good sense
The grass is plenty green on the inside of our fence
We're talking recipes for our romance
A quiet dinner and a real slow dance
So time to do the do, time to make the move that's right
as I hold you in my heart all day and night
[break with vocal scatting]
[refrain]

For some reason it reminds me of something the Rolling Stones could have done. It maybe the cool fx on that tasty performed lead guitar, and the sexy sax moving about in there. The vox sounds a little smoother than Mick's though, but very nice and perfectly balanced to the mood in the song:)
I think the rhythm guitar could be moved a bit back in the mix. It overwhelms the drums and bass a bit and I think it competes a bit with them on the rhythm side...
I like the melody and mood in this song much:)
I was thinking of a cross between, Sinatra, Martin and Seal. Rolling Stones! Never crossed my mind. We are a calm trio.

Just love toback and listen to the song over and over
a true classic ...!!!
Thanks for coming back the third time to listen to our amateur efforts with the art of mixing tracks originating from different parts of the planet.

does sound much better. and I thought the last version was great.
excellent work guys!

the last one. This one sounds much smoother and more integrated. The mix is better coordinated, with all the pieces fitting in where they should be. This one is CD ready as far as I can tell. I also like what sound to me like a new guitar part, with less effects on it, if fits the song better.
Great new mix guys, Kudos for a job very well done.
Be well and be cool,
Ed
Yes, sir. Jack redid the rhythm guitar track with less of that chorus/doubling effect. We are pretty happy with this mix.

Sing it to me! Let's take a twirl on the dance floor. Whatever you want! Baby, baby, I feel the same way.
Thanks. Are you done with this now? It is great.
Char: This is just the beginning of a romance with smooth jazz. Stick around for the second set -- called Afterglow.
Do you two need a couple of cigarettes?
; )
Char
But I do everything else... well used to. Hah! I like a bit of romance music. I imagine you both beating off the girls with a stick.

Guys, the adjustments you've made and the new tracks have made a huge difference in how this has come together this time. I still have a small nit, and it relates to what Thor mentioned about the rhythm guitar. For me there is some imbalance (especially in the first verse) due to the sax and rhythm coming from the same side of the sound stage, leaving the RHS empty until Dave's guitar comes in. Maybe moving the rhythm closer to centre and backing off the volume a bit would do it.
Your persisitence has definitely paid off with this lovely tune.
You can send me a copy of Brad's notes if you get a chance - much appreciated.
Neil
Neil: Thank you very much for your astute observation. Gomez had a guitar lick in the right channel in the intro which I took out in this mix #3. That caused the imbalance which you are hearing. Brad said that "effected" lick (heavily chorused and reverbed) so early in the mix sounded odd -- like a space alien something or other.

I agree with Brad's comment about Dave's guitar in that first section. Overall, Dave sounds great on this version.
