Description:
Mary Stevensons original Poem from 1936 *Footprints in the sand* is an absolute favpoem of mine and quite famous ! This is a collab with Feter McBlues & His Wonderful Mr Sanchez : ) It has been an honour & alot of FUN to work with such an experienced , talented & wellknown Artist here at Macjams - THANKYOU FETER - ENJOY ! Lyrics:
Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you." Thank you Lena the honor's mine for sure ..when you
told me about this poem and heard its verses I just
thought I need Mr.Sanchez he s the best man for such
feelings..so I looked up for his spiritual pieces ..
I already recorded called (mandolin Poems).I picked
one called "Through" and this is the one I thought
it might fit right there ..I m so glad you enjoyed it
and find it all work together ...thank you so very much !!!!!

Part of the beauty is Feter's folky plucking of Mr. Sanchez... much of the beauty is Lena's richly emotive voice, perfect for reciting this perfect poem...
But what makes this piece really special to me, is to have a lady in Sweden and a man in Syria, arrange and record and produce a piece like this... this is a beautiful collaboration, you two! Thank you for promoting world friendship, once note at a time. It is really important to do this, especially in these days when we wish somebody would carry us.

Haven't really thought about it until today that it is kindof amazing...doing this being in 2 totally different countries with so different culture & religion - : ) World Peace....what a Dream...probably will be in another 900years ! It was FUN for me & Feter did it all(!) so credit goes to Him & Mr Sanchez..!(!) i'm honoured.. So glad You liked it , I see People as Humans in the 1 place -religion comes 2 - God is God & Humans Father Earth is our Mother - we only have different ways of 'going there' or rather God gives us different ways to reach Him: ) All ways lead to Rome is a saying & you never now what that road way will be - got to see it in a broader perspective not only our lives but the next few hundred years or more!! what we do now leads into how/what the future lives/generations will believe in & do..& nothing happens overnite espacially not Gods ways : ) ! that you two put a big smile on my face. I remember the video you did where you read this, Lena. I am guessing that you re-recorded it. I echo Drakonis' sentiments that it is a heart warming realization that you in Sweden and Feter in Saudi Arabia could give voice to an inspired poem written by a young American woman. Very well done, Lena. A little shout out to Mr. Big for giving you the confidence to post. It's true. A gentle push and a hand offered in friendship open the door to new beginnings. When I read your bio I knew I would like what ever you did, because I wanted to. You get a good vibe from someone and your in. I listened to "footprints" (without looking at the lyrics), I was becoming sad at the notion that this was perhaps a story ending in hopelessness..., not the case. The ending surprised me. Profound and humbling. This is an example of a story well told. You had me all the way. Nice job.

sounds great over the gentle guitar to give an overall feeling of well being and tranquility. inspirational, perhaps to make something of a gentler nature myself. Who better to write such a song with than Feter, mr nice guy!

I'm not a real religious guy, but this poem has always gotten to me. It's simply beautiful. Like the story of the Little Drummer Boy.
