Description:
Still a song about a boy. When I say 'longer' I mean by 33 seconds. New break added - see if it makes any difference. I am interested in your thoughts - should it stay or should it go (now?)Jim Original is at http://www.macjams.com/song/47794 if you want to hear the difference... Lyrics:
JOHNNY NOTHIN’“Nothing” is your last name It could drive a man insane Johnny Nothin’ X 8 Black coat and studded boots You have up and left your roots Johnny Nothin’ X 4 Leaving it , loving it, left it behind now Johnny Nothin’ X 4 Turned your back on family You will wreck your destiny C’mon… Johnny Nothin’… |

Pumping bass line, love that so much.
I like the break on this one, I did one similar but with heartbeats instead of breathing so i quite like like the idea of the complete break... It is literally a breather!
I especially like the guitar work leading up to the break, some wicked sounds and guitar work in there.
Nice one

I felt the song needed a quick rest - I like the idea of stopping just to catch your breath as the tune runs away. Glad you tuned in to this version - you get it, right? Anyone that thinks about placing a heartbeat in a song deserves credit in my book.
Cheers!

should definitely stay. Very unusual, thanks for the replacement download.

If you say it should stay, then it does. 'Nuff said.

too! This trucks on! Nicely done!
I think it should definitely stay! I love the break... it sorta goes double time feeling!
The Infinites
I was totally inspired by Jean-Jacques Burnel of the Stranglers who sometimes punched the body of his Precision to give that growling rasp, like you hear in this, at the very end.
Glad you like it - thanks for listening/commenting.

and still in my head from the last time I listened to it. I think the break works, not because the song needed a break, but because it brings something new to the song. Great stuff, made even greater. Sweet. Peace.

What a fantastic observation, D!
I'm so glad that you took the time to comment once more.

me debo ir o quedarme?
When I heard the thunderous beat, I thought for sure this would be sung fast and furious, spitting everywhere, but pleasingly I was surprised by the drawn out singing. It's a nice contrast to the "Leaving it , loving it, left it behind now" and the "c'mons"
I like how you return to the Johnny Nothin' in the end. Works for me.
So, is Jake out of town or something? You've been busy!
Good stuff Jim!

I was playing a random playlist and "So Hardcore" came on. It is brilliant. Please come back. My close friends (non- MJers) are shocked (in a good way) at the standard of your music.
I want to hear your music more than mine.
Giddy up. giddy up...You ain't no fool. Do something.
