Wonderful! When you're stuck in a chorus like this, you don't mind at all. I love the breakdown at the end. This sounds like it could be a Squeeze outtake - but better.
five_extra_arms
I always thought Squeeze was a good band! This is junk!
Thanks man - what time did you start drinking?
ic42
it is music that chases its tail. is it a metaphor of meaning? perhaps we are trapped in a chorus circle when we are 'without you'. it is a very catching chorus. perhaps when she comes back, you will be able to finish the song. the singing and the harmony is always a good sound from you. it will be hummed for all week now, it is so good.
-hakucho.

Thanks for the listen, icey. I hope humming doesn't disrupt any activities. You're too kind.
Feter
MAN !!! ...the pure rockin set ..the great vocal work..
typical style of yours which I m enjoyin much here ...!!
heheh ...it works man ....really ...Rock on !!!
five_extra_arms
I had the idea the other night while sitting on hold with the phone company. I wrote down a few lines and then Monday night I had a few hours so I "jotted it down" in garageband. I listened to it at lunch today and thought, I should post it as it is.
Glad you liked it. Thanks Feter.
lavalamp
It was pretty dark in this room. Your vox were VERY strong on this. Almost poppy.
I love the simple approach Bob. Maybe I'm getting to you.
Could you be on to my grand master plan????
Dave

Ever since we jammed on the Hand Colored Photograph, I feel like a new person. A simpler and kinder person with very strong vocals. LOL!
Thanks Dave.
tempie
rock 'n roll. drink neat, room temp (we don't need no stinkin ice!). brought to you by 5 extra arms distillery, secret east coast location.
very cool dude, with everybody trying to save the world these days we need more 7X chorus tunes. ...essence of pop. plus, digging those backups in a big way!
five_extra_arms
From the west side of the east coast. We used to enjoy Black La Bell (as we called it so long ago). You know what's going on here. The kids are watching Alvin and the Chipmunks and I'm singing incomplete songs for 40 year olds! Maybe this song could follow your killer car crash tune in a compilation? Great new song man, really.
craft
Love the bass... Your vocals sounds fantastic too. Great chorus vibe :)
five_extra_arms
Thanks for listening Craft. I tried to get the vocals sounding halfway decent and I think maybe once or twice in the eight times I sang the chorus they sound not so awful. The other six times are painful!
dajama
Sometimes being stuck is good! Great chorus, and really catchy. Love the "My beautiful crutch/ I'm crippled without you" line. Nice bass - raw and real. Lennon714's Squeeze reference made me smile - spot on! Very cool. Are you planning to do more to it or let it be? Either way, nicely done. Peace.
five_extra_arms
I'm not sure what will become of this idea. I thought the chorus idea worked pretty decently and I thought I'd just develop it like I do so many times when an idea comes to me. But this time I couldn't escape the chorus, so I tried to work around it by making it the whole song. I know, sounds lazy and boring, but I just let it happen and it seemed natural so I went with it.
Thanks man. I always appreciate your comments.
estellie
You make me laugh. Stuck in a chorus, ay? Is it ever CUTE though.
Harmonies are sweet.
I kind of like it as is, now that we've captured this moment of stuckness. And because of the fact that the lyrics themselves explain the song's lack of verses. Ha ha. Too funny!
five_extra_arms
You're always laughing at me!
I agree that some of those harmonies are sweet, but there are some that shatter ear drums, windows and dreams.
So, now that the honeymoon is over, when are you going to bless this site with a new song or two?
You make me laugh.
estellie
I've got some things in the works, you'll see...

Dy-No-Myte!
I'm sure I'll be blown away.
TG
Fun song, the vocals are well done as usual, this song is so catchy it doesn't need a verse!
five_extra_arms
Thanks Tom. I'm glad you don't think it needs a verse. I debated for a few days and really thought it didn't need anything else, or should I say, I didn't think I was capable of adding anything that would make it any better.
Lou Reed said, "Stick a fork in it..." and that's what I did.
Maybe my next song will just be a bridge?
Thanks Tom. How's baby?
drakonis
very funny idea, except that this is a danged catchy piece of music... great singing too!

Thanks for the listen Drak. I always have my tongue in my cheek, no matter what the weather.

Rocha Malhada
I couldn't have expressed it better or worse in more or less words. (therein's another song title for ya, F.O.C.)
DL'd, thanks, and playback in endless loop for at least now. Perfect.

If it gets stuck for too long, I usually just give my monitor a good whack.
Thanks Harold!
EZamor
what an infectiously catchy song! (the better qualities of) the dandy warhols come to mind, but this compares favorably (their singer often sounds whiny, which you don't).
cheerz,
-=ez
five_extra_arms
Hey thanks EZ - they do get a little whiny at times, but they can write some killer 'pop' songs.
Thanks again for the comment.
DWL
go even weirder than normal.
Catchy little tune you got there :-)
Cheers

five_extra_arms
You have no idea how big of a compliment that is to me!
Thanks Dick!
The Infinites
This hypnotnic, trance-inducing, merry-go-round of a song is like being put on hold for an age.
That said - if the company used this, I would phone every day just to hear it and demand that no-one interrupts to speak to me. Please, leave me on hold for another 7 rounds...!
Press 4 for more...
Fun fun fun - glad you didn't hold back on this, Bob. Sounds like you had a blast in Valrico. But not the hanging on bit...
Heh, heh!

I was staring at my wife, staring at the phone, staring at the wall - thinking how dependent I am on so many things. Some good, some not so good.
When all else fails, I say, use it as a trigger for something bigger.
Thanks for holding, a customer service rep will be with you momentarily....
lengold
are a one off Bob.
This is just great fun, when I first just saw the title I did wonder a bit.
Fantastic idea and really enjoyed the three listens I just had. Great harmonies.
Cheers

Thanks Len!
I try hard to be just one off!

wacky beach boys harmonies (not to say that the beach boys weren't wacky). I once sung the verse on the chorus and the chorus on the verse, and thought I had made a major breakthrough in popular music, but you went one step further.
What's next ? just the bridge ?
five_extra_arms
My chorus wasn't the fighter your verse was.
Verse VS Chorus is still one of my all time favorite Hamlet Machines songs. Can I say that?
I just did.
Now, about that bridge...
MIRx
your italian fan club would leave you alone once and for all, but herre we are! big big bass here, cool hooking vox, and the usual brilliant lyrics.
five_extra_arms
Thanks Mirco
I'm thrilled that you like it. I'm patiently waiting for your next tune. Your last was one of my favorites.
Vic Holman
I got my orange crutch.
so you went and pulled a beachboys on us.
So now, go back in your office to do a few verses. Like, something with walkers and canes.
what you got hear is bouncy and very catchy!
five_extra_arms
Vic, you are such a trip.
Thanks for bouncing around with me on this one. I hope you don't get a letter from the Beach Boy's attorney any time soon.
michael2
that it was "my beautiful crotch" at first glance. even so, this is great. so catchy, I love your music. really into the idea of dispensing with the unnecessary parts of a song. who needs verses and bridges? really genius actually. am i jealous? hell yeah.
five_extra_arms
Now that's a good one!
Thanks for the undeserved high praise.
echoroom
... do you really have a beautiful crotch??? I'll ask your missus. Really poppy, and you know, your voice is getting better and better, a choir od Dorseys in fact.
Repeat to fade indeed
five_extra_arms
My vocals aren't getting better, in fact, I struggle more now than ever. I guess I'm just trying harder to play it safer and keep everything within my shallow range. This was so simple to start out with, I didn't have to roam far to explore the possibilities.
Glad they sounded good to you. Thanks for the comments about my crotch too.
racerat
Hey Bob,
Steve is right, your vox are getting better and better. The harmonies is particular. I might push them back a little more(NOT cuz they're not good...) in the mix with a tad more reverb, they would hand-hold with the musical bed more. Cool, poppy, solid!
P
five_extra_arms
I think I can do a halfway decent job harmonizing, as long as I have a strong vocal to use as a crutch. I think I juist used the bassline for that crutch on this one. I'm trying, thanks for the advice man!
BD
Diviner
this sounds so funny esp the harmonizing vocals. Very enjoyable music and lyrics. I do enjoy your electropop tunes.
five_extra_arms
Thanks Keith. I laugh at most of your music too!

Pete_NB
I liked how it changed while staying the same. And it sounds mucho cool on headphones, almost soothing, which is odd for such a hight energy tune.
And gesundheit. The second time I listened to this I kept hearing a sneeze at the end of every second line!
five_extra_arms
Pete,
I wanna party with you! Our secret tune sounds like the bridge that I could've used on this tune!
Stay warm!
Bob
Stun Nutz
Your tune here has me smiling on an otherwise blah Tuesday night. Love the loosey goosey way you sing those words... in one ear and around to the other.... with jumpy synth lines and dirty geetar just tying it all together rubberband-like.
thoddi
That black and scratchy hondo sounds very cool. If the Ratt pedal really is a RAT pedal, I believe they are rare these days? You are very fun to listen to. Played it three times now, and still not tired of that chorus:)
DeathArrow
amazing how your voices act together they sound very cool and tight !!!
cheers, luke

combination of vocals! Reminds me a little bit like "Flesh for Lulu" Great song!

this is a fun song. I like repeating chorus songs. Teenage fanclub has a couple like that (my favourite band).
well done!

First I love your picture up there .....This is such a fun song man . I like it !
