Description
Moving up the line, this will be my last post to introduce the playing and style of PPTKO in 1998. I am tempted to also post a song called "sneaking up from behind" and one called "As it Burns", because I think what blue was is not something you can describe with 1 or 2 songs. But I also want to move ahead. Maybe I'll be back.
The blue years were essentially the "live years" and also were the "formative years" of the boy who grew to a man who puts time of his life into music. If these years hadn't happened, and didn't happen the way they did, I would never have had the notion or the guts to continue producing my own stuff. I haven't gotten enormously popular (can you use the word enormous to describe something that is essentially zero? I just did it! Stretch the truth man, stretch the truth!). But I feel like I have made some progress and I hope that is evident as we go forward. When I'm done with this there will be a linear testament here that potential collaborators can check out.
This song, "Necessary Pain" used to generate requests at shows. I am not sure why, but for whatever reason people seemed to like it and want to hear it. This is a song about family and about loss. It's about how some things hurt, but can't be avoided. It's about coping with reality. Admit it, move on.

Lyrics
i can't remember a thing
you should know
i was only five years old
you can't lose what you have
when you really don't have at all
you really should know
would you please listen to me
i don't want it to be this way
but you're asking for pain
you want to get back lost time
you're crazy it's too late for this
i'd like to ask you to try
but why bother
don't have a brother there's nothing to miss
it's a necessary pain
BUT YOU MAKE IT SO HARD
WHY
I DON'T KNOW WHY
YOU MAKE IT SO HARD
just get off my back
i've got a load without this you see
and you're making it harder for me
it's a necessary pain
you should know
i was only five years old
you can't lose what you have
when you really don't have at all
you really should know
would you please listen to me
i don't want it to be this way

You really have a unique sound and style along with a great voice, I really enjoy my visits to your page. I am a true fan and you're one of the few here I would actually buy an album from because of the uniqueness of "chronologic."
Peace
