Description:
Vic was kind enough to remix this tune. The earlier version was posted -here- last month. I wrote this song as my daughter Stella was working on her college applications - contemplating her future and what it might be like without her around. Hence the slightly somber mood.
As usual - Vic worked his magic and found more space and life in this song - while refraining from adding his own instrumentation. I was interested in hearing how different a song can sound with a remix only, and he obliged.
Thanks Vic.
Stella - you're my star.
Photo was taken at the Los Angeles Airport waiting for our flight to Reno to attend Burning Man last summer. A 3/4 size classical in a gig bag makes a great travel guitar. Fits overhead.

Lyrics:
At once completeAnd still becoming
Surely certain
Barely tested
Direct line
From heart to head
Nothing in the Way
Nothing in the way
Glowing beaming
Beauty blessed
Loved and loving
All embracing
Hungry restless
Tired happy
Nothing in the way
Nothing in the way
Here today
An ocean crossing
Sea of choices
Deeper deeper
Fine weather
For a voyage
Nothing in the way
Nothing in the way

song itself is very cool, and the remix is perfect for it. love the vox on this, cold and passionate at the same time. not an easy rask. Sophies only 2 and I am already dreading her growing up. Great job guys.
bud
Vic did a great job with this - bringing out stuff I cut or buried and cleaning up the vocals. I hid behind effects in my version.
Cherish Sophie - as I know you do.

still mesmerizes me on hearing it again. Thanks for letting me work with it.
At some point when I get some ideas together I'll attempt to do a alternate version.

B doggie .. I Meant to leave a comment awhile ago . Not to take away from Vics Arrangement but honestly I liked the original better . It had a softer more organic desodent(I dont think thats a word but its stayin I like it : ) ) This is so in your face and kinda 80 rock style that I dont like .Just my very humble take on it man . And to vic nice job with the levels and "Mastering" the song sounds full and well balanced .
rsorensen
remix! love that intro. wicked song guys.
dajama
I still love it; great song, but what a definitely different vibe. Amazing job by Vic to bring his own imprint to this. A strong song can have many facets, and Vic has really opened up a new aspect of this one. Still think those lyrics are outstanding. Very cool. Kudos to you both. Peace.

amazing all isn't it?
touched my soul this dark night
even in the growing darkness
there is always hope for right
how could i ever have guessed
amazing all isn't it?
thank you

I like the fact that the vocals are more upfront on this mix. I like the original percussion mix better, but this one works too. the Guitar work stands out differently here to and I like it.
I think we should have a remix event where people sign up to remix their faves by others (Oh, wait, if you say it you have to organize it?? No, No lets not have a remix fest! No, lousy idea, ix-nay on the erix-may).
But this remix is a good contrast to the original. And I can't hear the lyrics and not think of my baby, Rebekah(Senior year, SUNY Platsburgh)
