Lyrics
Muddy Water - (c) 1996 Alan Crouch, music and lyrics
Rollin' river, Crescent City
Coal black water, Mississippi
Fallen Angel, just one taste
Drank that poison, fell from grace
The Devil's Daughter
Drank Muddy Water
Midnight dances, sacred rites
Secret garden, coal black night
Sipped that poison, soaked her skin
Heard her laughin' like the wind
The Devil's Daughter
Drank Muddy Water
Tried to save her, tried too late
At the Crossroads, sealed her fate
Passion burnin, flambeau hot
In the City that Care Forgot
The Devil's Daughter
Drank Muddy Water
Rollin' river, Crescent City
Coal black water, Mississippi
Fallen Angel, just one taste
Drank that poison, fell from grace
The Devil's Daughter
Drank Muddy Water

At the Crossroads, sealed her fate
Passion burnin, flambeau hot
In the City that Care Forgot
The Devil's Daughter

Of course I wasn't in Oregon at the time, but here it is coming right off the airwaves, as we speak.
I've heard this one before Alan, I liked it then and I still do. You guys work really good together, and this is a really good recording my friend. Glad to see you're getting some air play my friend. Kudos for a great job. I wish you all much success.
