His Truth Is Marching On...
John,
This is just beautiful. Thanks for posting it. A perfect choice for this weekend...My only wish is that it was a bit longer, maybe with a modulation up once or twice with a few more slight variations. Your grasp of jazz chords/harmony is absolutely perfect and I thoroughly enjoy such an inventive take on this standard.
Peace.
Paul

Simply beautiful,
your chord progressions are always the right choice, always of good taste.
I double Paul`s wish: It could be longer to give us listeners some more listening enjoyment!
Very well done!
Thx

Thanks, Paul and IGM
Thanks, Paul and IGM. Yes, it is short. This was created when I was brand-new to GarageBand and making tracks like this. I would get to the end of the melody of a tune like this and not be sure where to go next, so I would just end it. Many tracks later, now I force myself (in most cases) to go at least three minutes when creating a track. This pushes me to try out various key changes, mood changes, time sig. changes, etc. Anything to keep it interesting over a three-minute track. It has been a growth experience for me. I am very grateful for GarageBand and MacJams for helping me to grow in this way.

Battle Hymn
This is so awesome ...if the you didnt mentioned the main theme I would

Battle Hymn
You took a simple standard tune that has particular meaning this weekend, and made it something beautifully emotional and special.

Really nice - thanks for sharing this. Happy Memorial Day.

Really nice
This is a well-thought out version. Chords are tasty although grounded in traditional harmonies. (OK, I know what I mean :) You provide a low-key rendition, that is actually more in tune with the spirit of Memorial Day than some big splashy arrangement. A half-step modulation and repeat would've been nice, but this is short and to the point, which also has its uses.
