Lyrics
Outside My Window

The smoke from fireworks
Hid us from each other
The once bright flame diffused
I felt the sky come undone
As we fell apart in colored sparks
First come first served
First loved then burned

I see you run outside my window
I see you playing in the rain
And when I see you run past my window
Your calling out my name

I see a new season dawning
Better than the old days gone
I dont want to hear anymore
Is it me?
Is it you?
No more wasting time
Cause you were on my mind

Maybe she wants to come inside
Great stuff, Frank. Nice red herring opening. Tight arrangement, top production. Everything sounds great. Not exactly proggy, but what the hell ... Beautiful solo guitar playing. Cool with the doubled vocal tracks near the end. Good effect for the outro.

I am digging this tons. Superior planning and execution here, it sounds off hand as well, this a rare combination of elegance and expression.
Your specific phrasing is more than listenable, although I would have preferred more ride and less arpeggiation. Frank your arps are outstanding but I like your rides best, you can really express yourself as well as show off your chops.
I'm gonna have to make better stuff! You really raise the bar at MJ.

My favorite part
is when you sing "burned". You play so well, maybe too well. If you were a friend of mine I would call this a wankfest, with a good natured wink and a hint of jealousy. The bass line reminds me of "Badge", the guitar reminds me of every guitar god I ever idolized and the drums, well I agree with Wummimann, they sound out of place for such an organic track.
