Description
Every year my job takes me to the Virgin Islands, the sunsets are legendary. When we arrive, an Island girl with a BIG smile greats us. Nothing pretty about her, but that warm friendly smile after a 9hr. flight is refreshing. This is a work in progress . . .

Enjoy!

Thanks Feter
This is a piece in the works, I did what to make it longer and a guitar solo would be a good addition. I glad you enjoyed the song!

Cool sunny track
Light. Playful. Could be labeled Latin too.

Well done - thanks !

Latin
Your right about Latin, most of my originals are Latin Jazz.
I guess the imaginary sunny island could be Puerto Rico?

Ah
It fits then - clearly more Latin to me than Reggae. Puerto Rico. . . Well, actually, Dominican Republic came to mind.

Vacation
Happy I could take you along for the ride.
However when I do go to Caneel Bay it is for work, but we do get a couple of days for ourselves!

Right on composition, it's an island breeze. The sax is gorgeous here. As usual, well done mi amigo. Salute!

And this song
put a smile on my face.

The mix sounds, for want of a better term, dense. Too much compression? Maybe cut some frequencies from certain instruments. For instance that snare drum is very thick and the bass extends quite a bit into the mid range.

scaustrita said 124 days ago (July 7th, 2009)
Thanks
As listed above it is a work in progress, however your suggestions will be taken into consideration. The tracks have no compression the problem is some instruments are getting lost in mix. The bass, guitars, and flute are played live so the dynamic range is greater than a software instrument. The results some instruments get lost in the mix!
Thanks for your comment . . .

By the way, you have a good ear!!
