	hell yes I hope the Ralph story is true. Ralph is a badass name for a dog. We got a dog from the pound once and named him Jeff. Badass dogs with badass names. Ralph had the broken paw, but you should have seen the other dog. The Spanish was a nice touch, too. Very Clash of you. Deloreans, dogs, and angry monkeys. Who needs love songs? i've been thinking that i need to write a song about a dog. best dog song ever imo is by red house painters - wop a din din on the Old Ramon album. second best dog song ever is this one - very cool tune.

man, i never know what to expect from you, just that it will be good and will probably be completely unlike the last tune. the Spanish bit is perfect. also the whistles. and the solo, channeling santana. and the super cool keys. my white bread image of you has taken a turn.

George Clinton,
would be proud, my friend. This one kicks a--. Love the funky feel to it and the lyrics are a hoot man.

Couple of things to suggest. The high pitch drums are pretty hot in the mix to me to the point of sounding scratchy, and the vox needs to come up a bit to really her the lyrics cleanly.

(Always keep in mind, you're getting this advice from the deaf guy in the audience sitting right in front of the PA speaker so he can hear you).

Anyway thought I'd mention it just in case the PA speaker is telling the truth. ;-)

thanks for the listen Ed, yes George Clinton / P-funk are favourites of mine...
the drums were a bit difficult... this was actually my first post with me playing real drums (albeit I augmented the snare and bass hits with MIDI). I'm a crappy drummer with a lo-fi recording setup!
However, agree it could be improved.
vocal levels likewise.

	cool really cool. like those harmony guitars. how long did it take to you to do this? really neat, seems like it would be really hard to do a funk number without an actual band. lots of weird touches too, which make it really unique sounding, and the subject matter is killing me. great track. damn those guitars are cool. it was a little challenging but not too bad.
it was just based on two chords plus the bossa nova chords in the middle.
I played the drums to a click track for about 20 minutes and then took out the few usable snippets to use as loops. I'm a rhythmically challenged crappy drummer so that added up to about 1 minute total. (couldn't find any prefab funk loops). then played the two chords over top for a while. then I filled up the space with improvised guitar and bass.
I run a few bars on "cycle" with the multiple take feature until something sounds good to me (usually like 30 takes or something). then I repeat it!

live drums?
Sounds like you've played the drums live. Cool if you did. Nice guitar solo and rhythm chops. Tasty work on the keys. Pretty advanced funky turns in here. There are some timing issues here and there, but it is a great experience playing all instruments track by track (which it sounds like you did here), and this is a challenging piece to put together.

I'm "wagging my tail" to your funk
You're certainly "barking" up the right tree with this one. It has a "ruff" but cool and quirky, helter-skelter vibe. This song made me "howl" with laughter. The Spanish in the middle is one "doggone" great idea. I never hit the "paws" button so no "bone" to pick here. (Apologies to Gene Shalit.)
