Hvorden Hard Dues

Description
Remixed with Multiband compression. A loungy jazz piece performed mostly on an Edirol PCR-30 keyboard with loops for the rhythm section. Used ReMidi for the Minor Sevenths, a trumpet soundfont with highpass filter for muted trumpet. Attempted to get a live feel to the sax and trumpet with mixed success.

Nice Tune
When working with GB I got frustrated with how much the
saxes do not really sound like saxes.

Nice Tune
That's exactly my concern! I'd love to find a realistic sax-sound. Ah
well...guess that's why we still have musicians! Its hard to get the bend or
intonation on every note. The same is true for the trumpet sound.
Nonetheless I had alot of fun putting this together.

Nice Tune
Ditto on the saxes.

If you can pick up a cheap copy of OmniSynth, their saxes don't entirely stink.
I'm using them on my piece Cello Mello.

Of course there is YellowTool Candy. Costs about as much as a Mac Mini, but
I'm sure it's good.

Very listenable
I know what you mean - I have the same trouble with
ethnic instruments like fiddles and pipes. All you can
do is try to create something that sounds good in its
own right so the synthetic instruments don't stand
out negatively. And I think you've managed that here:
a nice chilled-out beat with the sax wandering
around doing its own thing. The melody is strong
enough to carry the song.
