Description
Piano, guitar. This piece was used to score "Lost and Found," a documentary I produced on loss and grief among children. Aiming for a 'timeless' feeling, there is no metre, just filling in empty spaces with notes and chords, and sometimes not filling them.

Beautiful and subtle. I can hear how this would make a
great soundtrack piece.

Thanks Schroter. There is a brief clip of the doc, "Lost and Found," available
on line at this web address:

I produce documentaries on issues affecting children and teenagers for CWK
Network. (www.cwknetwork.com) Normally, professionally produced music is
used to score the docs, but in this case, "August" seemed to work.

I couldn't make the direct link work. This one will take you to a page with all
the documentaries; scroll down to "Lost and Found" and play the sample.

Sorry about the other address. I tried this one and it works. However, it is a
very brief clip from the 30 minute program.

Great work. I checked out all your samples. You hit some pretty tough topics
in a very compelling and real way. Hopefully you will have many more
opportunities to use your original scores in the future.

hmm.........
nice...slightly reminisent of Claude Debussy...he had that "air" going on....he used spacing of the notes and chords built on the interval of a 4th instead of a third......but I digress.....I like this

Filling Empty Space with Notes?
While the intent of the song is noble and the end use
admirable, the idea of filling empty spaces with notes, to
me is not good enough. Not when a song with such mood
and atmosphere can evoke such emotion from a listener.

This song creates the empty spaces. It extracts them from
a world of noise. Beautiful job.
